We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Barba and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, what do you attribute your success to?
Adaptability!
Adaptability is the key to any striving brand. I learned this first-hand during the onset of the pandemic and the months to follow leading up to today.
My artistic journey with Art of Life by Rebecca B. LLC, commenced with my focus on charcoal, pencil, acrylic painting, live painting and commission work. Through the years, I also added art consultation services to my roster.
In 2020, I shifted my focus to creating fashion masks featuring my artwork in response to the shortage of face masks during the pandemic and was overwhelmed with the response recieved from collectors and friends and family globally. I also leaned into the desire for “in-home” gatherings offering private art tutoring and intimate paint parties.
The one constant no matter, what the artistic medium or service is the connections developed with the collector, student, paint party participant and client. There aren’t words to describe being able to make someone feel a certain emotion and sharing a bond because of artwork you made for them, or you helped them to create.
Developing connections with people through my art is a magical gift the Universe has bestowed onto me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Artist/Marketing Executive
Never give up on your passion! Creating is what motivates me and when I am in the creative groove the best output is achieved and I am in harmony. I graduated with a Minor in Visual Arts from Florida International University and a Master’s of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications.
I’ve been fortunate to lead a dual-career focused life, working for global corporations shaping Marketing messages and maintaining Art of Life by Rebecca B. LLC on my own. My inspiration for my artwork comes from LIFE…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family! From an early age when I showed an interest in the Visual Arts, my parents encouraged exploration and development. Summer art camps, endless trips to the arts and craft stores in search of art supplies for every new class, their support never wavered. They have been a constant along with my extended family and friends always supporting me at gallery openings, live painting events etc.
My art education has played a big factor in my development as an artist.
My art teachers helped expand my skills while challenging me: Mr. Hanna from Palm Springs Elementary, Mrs. Graney from Miami Lakes Elementary, Mrs. Renaud from Miami Lakes Jr. and Mrs. Nicols from Hialeah Miami Lakes Sr. High. These were the art educators and creative minds that will always hold a special place in my heart. It Is because of them I decided to pursue a Minor in Visual Arts, at Florida International University.
I give a big thank you to My VILLAGE, I am grateful for the support of family and friends who are always asking about my new work and are always willing to show support at any event I participate in.
