Meet Rebecca Pasko | Dog Training Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Pasko and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Dog Training is an unregulated industry, anyone can call themself a dog trainer. It is up to each individual dog trainer to learn, grow, and earn certifications.
Find a dog trainer with MULTIPLE certifications from different organizations or individuals. All dog training schools and certifications are slightly different. Individuals who are interested in the betterment of dogs and experts in animal behavior are continually working with and learning from other professionals.
Ensure your dog trainer has been trained in CPR and safety training. Your dog trainer should continuously be learning with other professionals at conferences and training seminars.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Happy With Dogs has an amazing team who uses its training experience and expertise to help people enjoy life with their dogs. We help dogs lead the best life possible, helping owners to satisfy them mentally, physically, and emotionally.
We are known for our training retreats where we help dogs to learn manners, but also coach pet parents on how to continue and maintain manners and behaviors.
As the founder of Happy With Dogs, I grew from a one-woman hobby who worked in every department to a thriving business with 15 employees who all love dogs! It is not always easy, with many sleepless nights, crying, and even some blood! However, it’s extremely worth it to help dogs and owners live together in harmony.
Get help, get coaches, and ask experts for advice the sooner the better. Coaches, training, learning, and conferences have helped me to learn so much from so many pet professionals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely get lunch one day at Kush by Spillover in Coconut Grove. The food is excellent, and they have outdoor seating so that I can bring my pooch with me. From here we would walk past peacock park and Regatta Park on the way to Dinner Key marina to scope out all the boats. On another day we would head to Crandon Beach on key Biscayne and enjoy an afternoon on the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This shoutout is dedicated to my amazing parents Joseph and Renee Pasko. On a Farm in Michigan, they raised me, allowing me to choose my own path and passion, which meant dogs and lots of them. Thank you for enabling me to find what I love in life.
I also need to thank a wonderful organization called 4-H, specifically Roxanne and Dorothy which offered dog training programs to learn about dogs, agriculture, speaking, etc. This youth development program propelled me into the wonderful world of dogs.
