We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Temerario and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Steel Tulip Creative Co., my business, is a marketing firm that helps other small businesses, authors, and educators grow their marketing strategies. To do this, we use social media, email, web development + design, branding, and more.

Outsiders definitely see marketing as one umbrella, encompassing each aspect of the above, when in reality, most of these types of marketing are their own separate jobs/careers for those working in major companies. There’s A LOT of data and strategy that goes into reaching expert-level in any aspect of marketing. It isn’t just “writing and email” or “taking a picture or video” – it’s determining when and where to deliver that content so that your customers/prospective customers will see it and want to purchase from you.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Steel Tulip Creative Co. nurtures small businesses, authors, and educators to build brands that bloom.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents, Debbie and Tom Temerario, as well as my husband, Leland Lloyd. My dad ingrained in me from the time I was a small child to “find a need and fill it,” so I grew up with an idea that I might pursue entrepreneurship and create my own businesses. My mom was a Journalism major, and along with my grandfather (who told me numerous stories of his time in World War II), taught me how to tell stories and master the English language. Their love of storytelling and grammar put me on a course to using branding, writing, email, and social media to tell business’s stories.

My husband, Leland Lloyd, has been my north star. He’s spent countless hours listening to me strategizing and building my business, and is a trusted advisor who understands both how I think and the way I want to deliver my services to the world. His support has allowed me to create the time and space to growing a business.
