We had the good fortune of connecting with Regina Claudia Galletti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Regina Claudia, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I was an architecture student, working as a trainee when the company’s director called me in his office . He wanted to tell me that the company was offering me a job as an architect as my graduation was close. I said “thank you”, feeling very happy but he continued and asked me if I didn’t want to know what I was suposed to do.
Surprised I said : Yes of course!
He pointed to a senior architect which was responsible for detailing all the big projects and told me that that was my destiny.
“Is that what you want ?
I said : “No !!!”
“What do you want ?”
“I want to have my own clients, talk to them, understand their needs, issues, dreams ,,,”
“So, he said looking into my eyes,
I am going to tell you something I would like someone should have told to my daughter if she was sitting exactly where you are : Go for it ! Follow your dreams !!”
At that time, fortunately, I was reading Shoeless Joe by W.P.Kinsella.
The book was also the inspiration for the film Field of Dreams, the story about the beauty and history of baseball, and the power and endurance of a dream.
Both the book and the film had huge impact on me .
I understood that when you really want something, nothing can stop you.
Your destiny will be traced by your most profound desires.
The phrase on the book “They will come…” was exactly what I needed to hear to be sure that my clients would come as well .
And this simple thought never left me …
And here I am more than 20 years after, with my own Architecture Office, with projects in many countries.
I work with passion and love what I do !!!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I cannot tell that it was easy. It took a lot of persevererance and determination. We didn´t have facebook or Instagram to publish our work at that time, so being known was a lot harder than it is today. But I wanted so much to have my own clients and I was so sure that ¨they would come¨ that I never surrendered.
In the beggining was only me and a secretary. I never said No to any oportunity. Even the smalest.
Now we are a team which work brings new works and recommendation is our best publicity. I love being close to my clients, I love details and each space even the smallest are unique .
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Miami I love the sunset and the sunrise, The Design District is a creative neighborhood and shopping destination dedicated to innovative fashion, design, art, architecture and dining.. It is really worth the visit.
The New World Symphony at South Beach is also a must see a concert place.
To have fun and eat I love SeaSpice and for a more casual place Casa Tua on Brickell
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mostly my family because they suported me when everything was only a dream , and even without being as sure as I was about my success they were always there for me.
