We had the good fortune of connecting with Regine D. Saint- Victor Boulin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a business as a young woman brings a unique mix of excitement, challenge, and determination. When I embarked on this journey, my thought process was shaped by several key factors:
First and foremost, it was a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences that drove me. From organizing small gatherings to larger events, I discovered that event planning was more than just a career choice—it was a calling. This passion fueled my motivation to dive into the industry despite its complexities. At Sweet Tooth Fiesta, our mission is to help clients “Live it Through the Theme” while working within their budgets, making every event special and personalized.
Next, I dedicated time to researching the market and validating my ideas. Understanding the needs and gaps in the market allowed me to refine my business concept and ensure that there was a real demand for what I was offering. This foundational work was crucial in setting the stage for a successful venture.
I also recognized that starting a business is not a solo endeavor. I actively sought mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, joined business networks, and connected with other young women in business. Their advice and support proved invaluable in guiding me through various challenges and providing perspective.
Moreover, I understood that entrepreneurship involves a steep learning curve. I embraced continuous learning—through formal education, self-study, and practical experience. Personal growth became deeply intertwined with professional development, enhancing my ability to navigate the business landscape.
While ambition was a driving force, I made sure to stay grounded by setting realistic goals and acknowledging that success takes time. This mindset helped me manage expectations and maintain a balanced perspective, avoiding the pitfalls of unrealistic planning.
Overall, starting a business in the event industry as a young woman required a blend of passion, strategic planning, creativity, and relationship-building. It’s about leveraging my unique perspective and skills while remaining adaptable and responsive to the evolving demands of the industry. Each step in this journey has been a building block toward creating something meaningful and impactful, driven by the desire to make every event memorable and special.
