Meet Rei Giraldo | Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rei Giraldo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rei, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
In the beginning it was very difficult to find the balance between being independent and keeping my daily life, I didn’t have time for anything since it was just me doing everything.
Over the years, experience teaches you to improve creative and production processes and to lead more efficiently. Now, with this experience, I can coordinate my time to be with my partner and my friends without neglecting my company. I have learned to delegate and lead so that I can have time for my hobbies and space to continue creating without stressing about the production process.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
“A unique story told with the soul” that is what makes us different, always behind each dress, kimono, bag, or piece of jewelry there is a story that is telling what is happening in my life at that moment, what inspires me, what fills me with love, passion or sadness. my last 10 years of life are written in my collections, they are my biography! every time a woman wears one of our pieces, she is carrying my story.
One of the most important lessons I have learned is that you have to be constant, believe in what you do and be open to listen to constructive criticism with humility to learn and focus on yourself.
From the bottom of my heart I want Rei Giraldo to be a brand that women feel in love with, in love with the stories we tell through our collections.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In #1 I would take you to the Vizcaya Palace, it’s one of my favorite places in Miami. Even our “Dancing in Love” collection was inspired by this place.
I would take them to paddle board and watch the sunset.
A coffee on the rooftop of Dior.
I would take them to Dinner at Marion in Brickell and if they are passionate about finding old treasures I would take them hunting to the antique dealers in the Antique and Design Mall on 87th Biscayne.
And of course partying on Calle 8!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Life and Business partner Andres Arango. He has been an unconditional support since day 0. His vision, discipline and ambition have made Rei Giraldo grow and continue to grow day after day.
