We had the good fortune of connecting with Renee Konoski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renee, how do you think about risk?
I believe that risks are an essential part of ones life journey. Honestly, risk taking has provided me with the opportunity to dive deeper into my purpose and has served as a foundation for continuous growth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I view myself as a Unconfined Creative.  Not only have I  had the opportunity of using my creative talent to write, illustrate, and publish  2 of my own books; a children’s book; “ What A Wacky Walk” and and adult fiction book; “L.E.G.O.S” but I get to continuously create new workouts for my clients as well. Honestly, since  before I can remember I was always intrigued with the human body and fitness especially always dealing with my fluctuating weight.  Hence why, on my down time I was always researching different exercises ,different meal ideas, or working out with my friends.

Although, I had a great passion for fitness  my career in that field did not take off right from there. Before jumping full time into personal training and starting up my own business I worked in childcare for over 12 years which fed another passion of mine which was early education. While dedicating so many years to the childcare field I was also able to still tend to my passion of exercise, fitness, and health which was great. I am firm believer of how everything happens for a reason and timing is everything so even though I loved being able to imprint on little hearts I came to a point in my journey where I felt it was time to dive deeper into my purpose.

Listening to my heart while my son was in his last year of preschool I  applied all my previous knowledge and new knowledge and became a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist. So, when my son finally started kindergarten and I transitioned into becoming his homeschool teacher it was the perfect time to embark on that new  journey, hence how D.R.i.P Fitness came about in 2018. After that I was even able to dive deeper and combine both my passion for fitness and early childcare and started “D.R.i.P Kidz” which is an extracurricular service I provide for parents with young children and preschools around the surrounding areas which incorporates learning and promotes the importance of staying active through fun games & activities.                 Although this business endeavor was a risk I needed to take it did not come to a surprise to my friends and family because throughout my life I was told a copious amount of times from others how I should look into the fitness field and so when I did they were very supportive. I am extremely grateful for not only the support of my family and friends but my amazing customers who continue to support my business and spread the word.

Starting D.R.i.P fitness was one of the best decisions of my life and I’m ecstatic for what the future holds for D.R.i.P Fitness as well. I am still in awe of the amount of growth that has transpired thus far from starting with one client to multiple clients and then starting from only having online workout downloadable guides to actually starting my own active apparel line and merchandise. Being able to help others is what makes life so fulfilling. Your purpose is much bigger than you. I can’t wait to be able to help so many others become their best self and continue pursuing my purpose;to inspire and be inspired.

I feel like the hardest part of starting up my business was getting out of my own mind. I had to reframe my mind to get out of my own way and trust in my abilities. I had to take risks and that was something foreign to me since I had always worked a 9-5 and under someone. Throughout my journey I have learned many different lessons  but one thing that has stuck with me is that you won’t always be able to please everyone but as long as you give it your best, stay true to you and your brand, and keep professionalism at all times you’ll win.

I want people to take from my story that anything that you put your mind to you can do. You are beyond capable! Take those risks, get uncomfortable, and dive deep into your purpose! Tap into your power! What’s for you will and has always been for you! Just take that first step, every step counts! Just like what D.R.i.P stands for and what I firmly believe in with anything in life not only just with  fitness; Dedication, Responsibility, Initiate, and Push. Apply that formula in all you do and make it a lifestyle! You Got This!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was visiting me the first stop would definitely be the beach. I absolutely love the beach! The beach, palm trees, and beautiful skies are a big part of why I moved to Florida. The beach is very important to me, it serves as my place to just slow down and be present in the moment; a place I can center myself! I would also be sure to take them to wynwood walls; absolutely love that place. Walking through wynwood and looking at all the amazing artwork is such a great experience that everyone should take the opportunity to do. Another place I would be sure to take them is to this amazing vegan spot I love called “Love Life Cafe.” I always make sure I stop in there when I’m in the Miami area. Becoming a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutritionist has really opened my eyes to different ways of eating and a large variety of new foods which I am extremely grateful for. Overall, I really enjoy the simple things in life and I feel like Miami gives you the perfect balance of highlighting those simple things in life while also catering to other experiences as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Every person in my family and my closest friends have played an important role in my life and have continuously  been such a great support system in all that I do. Especially my son because he is not only my biggest blessing but my “push” when it comes to risk taking which forces me to grow. In addition, my significant other is a big part of my inspiration and has also played a major role in encouraging me to take risks as well.
