We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhona Rubio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rhona, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As an Artist and Interior Designer I’m excited step into coaching! My desire is to bridge the gap between life + design. Sometimes life gets crazy. It feels confusing. Life is complicated. It’s easy to feel stuck in unwanted cycles. Feeling stuck provides the perfect opportunity for growth.
I launched my coaching business to help clients gain clarity and confidence in their relationships and creative process.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Stepping into coaching was loaded with emotions, it wasn’t easy, but it felt like the right “next step” in this season. I’ve been interested in phycology and counseling most of my life, and although I didn’t see this in my future a few years ago – I’m so incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to share what I’ve learned in life + design to help others gain clarity.
One lesson I’ve learned in this season is to let go of things that are not serving me well, and step towards ideas and dreams that bring peace and joy. The path isn’t always easy, but it becomes fulfilling when we have peace and joy on our side.
If you’re in a season where you feel stuck in cycles that are not serving you well – I highly recommend taking the Primal Question Assessment on my website and booking a free call. With the Primal Question Framework you identify your Highest Emotional Need and discover how it is the root force driving your life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man, Miami has so many great spots. DAY 1
Right now I’m loving Uchi in Wynwood. So we can start in Wynwood, and hit up Dante’s before or after dinner.
DAY 2
I’d spend a day in Key Biscayne. We could grab sandwiches at Golden Hog for a picnic and paddle boarding at Crandon. If we are lucky we’ll get low tide on the sandbar. Before sunset I’d head to bill bags and grab a fried snapper at Boaters Grill + see the sunset @ the cleat.
DAY 3
Breakfast @ Tinta y Cafe and head Pinecrest Gardens or Fairchild. I’d stop at books and books in The Grove and grab Mister01 for dinner.
Day 4
Grab lunch at Casa Tua and enjoy the day at South Beach and maybe stop by Lagniappe House in the evening for Jazz
Day 5
Brickell + Downtown. Putt Putt in the City Center + Eat @ Julia and Henry’s
Day 6
Design District and eat @ Cote (or burgers at Micheals)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say, Mike Foster, and his new book The Seven Primal Questions paved the way for me to pivot into coaching in this season. The Primal Question framework has been transformational. I’m grateful to have him as a mentor as I’ve stepped into coaching. The ENTIRE primal question coaching community has been an incredible source of support and encouragement! They are GOLD.
