Meet Ricardo Torres | Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ricardo Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ricardo, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Being an entertainer being able to give people a sense of relieve by music and dancing is the best feeling in the world. I play the congas Alongside my brother Pedro Torres who sings with our family business called Grooveline Entertainers.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up I was always known as “Congas”all through middle to high school . Even though I should never admit this but I have never had conga lessons . Playing the congas was something that once I felt the rhythm I went with it and untill this day never stopped. Joing the family business with Grooveline Entertainers really took me out of my comfort zone and opened my eyes to the business side. As the years went by i knew there was more to just playing the congas . I purchased a non-stilt LED robot just to see what I can bring to the table . Now 3 years later I’m 3 robots in and bringing life to all events iv had the privilege in doing
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a Patchogue native and experiencing the weekend night life of my hometown . I would recommend going to Willys The Cuban right in town and witness The Cuban Experience with Grooveline Entertainers also the best Tropicana show by the ladies of Rumbamena . They have a DJ 9pm with the best of the best DJ Chopps .
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I come from a musical background. My father Pedro Torres sr had his own band in the 70s called “El cano y sus Ritmicos” he was the lead singer of his Latin band. Being able to carry that talent that he passed on to myself is more than rewarding and I’m proud to continue his legacy .
