Meet Richardo Jackson | Founder & President

We had the good fortune of connecting with Richardo Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Richardo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
That’s simple – my mom. The End. She spent her life in dedication to others and helping people regardless of who they are or where they are from. Growing up, she would invite people to live with us, so much so that people would often ask how big was our family or how many cousin or uncles and aunties we had. However, to us, everyone was family.
My mom passed away two years ago and I started this organization in honor of her, hence the name Campbell Health Solutions, which was started about a year ago.. Campbell was her maidan name. Over the last twenty-one years, I have dedicated my life to helping others to help themselves. Working tirelessly with state governments, national and local community and faith based organizations. using my professional and lived experiences to engage, build, develop and implement programs, strategies and policies to address HIV among people who are disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS. Addressing health inequities and disparities specifically among Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC).
That is why, Campbell Health Solutions is laser focused on innovating health care for communities At-Risk for HIV/AIDS through our unique programs and services designed for individuals and families.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I began working in HIV/AIDS prevention Twenty-one years ago, first as a Youth Advocate for the HEAT program at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. I served as a Outreach Coordinator at Project KISS, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell and Columbia University, before serving as a Community Health Specialist/Phlebotomist at Gay Men Health Crisis, Inc., providing hepatitis and syphilis screening, pre and post HIV counseling, testing and referral services.
Prior to working with the Florida Department of Health (Florida Health), I worked as the linkage to care coordinator with the Adolescent AIDS Program at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY and I have provided HIV testing, education and technical assistance internationally.
Since relocating to Florida, I have worked with Florida Health and served as a Disease Intervention Specialist in Broward County, Prevention Training Consultant in Palm Beach County, Minority AIDS Coordinator in Palm Beach and the Statewide Black Men’s Sexual Health Coordinator, and the list goes on and on. all leading to being the founder and president of Campbell Health Solutions, Inc.
I graduated from Northwood University with an MBA in May 2015 and I have dual B.S degrees in Community Health & Human Services and Organizational Management and a Certificate in Leadership and Supervision from Saint Joseph’s College New York, Brooklyn, NY. I was awarded the Brooklyn Outreach Workers 2004, and the Pride in the City 2005, Young Adult Leadership Awards (just to name a few). Currently, I am working my doctorate degree.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, writing poetry, being outdoors and in nature as well as traveling.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Volunteering with Campbell Health Solutions would definitely be incorporated towards serving the community. on the itinerary would be south beach – the beach and brunch at palace. Dinner listings would include Mofongo in Little Havana, Thai and Jamaica food. clematis by night and club Boi 2.0 among other places from West Palm Beach to Miami Beach. Along with one or two day trips to Tampa and Orlando. Yes, I’m very big on road trips and shared cultural experiences. depending on the time of year, I would include local events, activities and happenings.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All of this would not be possible with God. I would like to thank my mom – the late Elaine May Campbell for instilling the importance of being of services to others. My Husband – Matthew and our two boys (Michael and Rylan) for their love and support, and keeping me on my toes. My friends and community-partners who have supported me, encouraged and gave me a shoulder to lean on. Your support is invaluable to me.
