We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Izquierdo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The habits that helped me succeed were to stay consistent in pursuing my dream. Being disciplined and organized have also shaped my career on a day-to-day basis. Overall showing up and giving it my very best has been my key to evolving into the professional I am today.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Since graduating from college I have been deeply in love with marketing and how humans are influenced to buy via relating to the product or romanticizing to have or want in their life. I started out as a designer on Lincoln Road at a print/marketing agency known as PK Graphics in the famous 420 building. This role would then translate into a web developer and then a senior web developer into a digital marketer after many years and many different industries. I have worked in Hospitality, Fintech, Medical Research, Luxury Development firms, and E-commerce. No matter the industry I always had a keen eye for design and ad rollouts to cater to that specific audience. I guess I’m an entire multi-media agency rolled into one man. I take pride in studying every industry im involved in before launching any campaign so I may respectfully speak to that audience with facts and nobility.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Luckily I’m from the Midwest originally and everyone always comes to visit me in Miami. As soon as they land if it was Friday we go to get food and drinks at Lucky 1800 and show them around Wynwood. At nighttime, we would go to Komodo for food and then the lounge upstairs to catch a vibe. The next morning hit up SOBE for some beach time and beers. Nighttime on Saturday we would do Brickell Sugar on the top floor and vibe maybe Tootsies late night lol. Sunday brunch somewhere and then jetskis all over Miami.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The person that has been a cornerstone in my life is my Mother which is an amazing painter, she has inspired me and pushed me to reach all my creative goals. The organization that helped me foster and develop my creativity is the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
