We had the good fortune of connecting with Romi Wallach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Romi, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am born and raised in Toronto Canada. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. My parents were business partners with my uncle, in real estate development. My mom was one of very few women in this business when I was growing up and I was fortunate to grow up watching my father and my uncle support her in a way that if they had opportunities where men would refuse to work with women (and yes, this happened), they walked away from them without hesitation. I watched my parents work incredibly hard but always put my sister and I first. My mom really set the bar when it comes to working full time and being such an incredibly present and incredible mom. One of my parents were always at a volleyball comp, dance comp, and carpooling us all over town, helping us with homework. My parents showed us that family always came first, and how important it is to show up for the people you love and care about. That being said, I remember wandering into my parents room at night at 10pm or later and they would be working to make up for the time they took to be with us. In addition to that, they were active in philanthropy. They were leaders in the community and they involved my sister and I in all of the events. We learned from a very early age how important it was to give back and not just by giving money but by investing time and energy. All of this shaped who I am today and why I care so deeply about supporting my community, my friends and family. My parents showed me what really matters in this life by doing not just by speaking. I watched my father passionately connect people to one another and the genuine joy he got from making those connections. There is no doubt that he played a pivotal role in why so much of my career is rooted in connections and impact.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Daily Drip is a media platform. We provide content, education, resources, programming and community for the modern female professional in South Florida. What is unique about us is that all of our content comes exclusively from local female entrepreneurs and business leaders. They are thought leaders sharing their experience and expertise in all areas that affect women business leaders today from finance and accounting and marketing and sales to travel, mental health, parenting and so much more. These women are not content creators, they are professionals that are creating content to support the modern business women in her journey to maximum potential.

What I am most proud of is how authentically Nicole and I have built this community, completely organically, without spending a single dollar on advertising. We have built our audience to almost 4000 south florida business leaders one connection and one conversation at a time. We pride ourselves on delivering high impact content and on supporting the women in our community by giving them the resources to navigate this hybrid landscape that we are living in post covid. Showing up digitally is critical in todays business marketplace and we are doing everything we can to support our female entrepreneurs with the community and the resources to show up in a meaningful way and in a way that truly connects their business plan to their content plan. I am very proud of how we have taken our time to grow our community and our business with intention and always staying true to why we started the Daily Drip. We launched the podcast to further share our journey as to why and how we built the Daily Drip and in a very real and transparent way. The Her Pursuit podcast was an extension to further share our journey building the Daily Drip and have raw and candid conversations about how and why we built it, the challenges that we have faced and that most entrepreneurs will face at some point in their journey. It is another way for us to continue to share valuable insights for any woman looking to start her own business, make a career move, and hopefully inspire her to take that leap with as much information and with as many resources as we can provide to help her along the way.

We regularly check the temperature of our audience and our thought leaders to make sure that we are meeting them where they are at and continue to provide the support and content that is impactful. We have aligned ourselves with community partners and community stake holders that share our values and our mission which has allowed us to continue to grow. We want the world to know that there is a place and a community and a home for the professional woman here in South Florida to grow both personally and professionally and learn amongst her peers how to navigate this digital world of creating high impact content. We have several ways to engage and participate in the Daily Drip no matter where you are at in your business journey.

Was it easy? Absolutely not. It has been incredibly hard as we have built the Daily Drip while also working full time careers and caring for our families. However, it has been worth it 100 percent and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Every month the thought leaders come together to learn and create and it is truly unbelievable what happens in these meetings and it is everything we need to remind us that it is all worth it. It is literally Big Magic. The bonds, the relationships and the community that we have created is like nothing I have experienced anywhere else. I think what makes our community so special is that it is comprised of givers. It is a community of business women constantly looking for ways to help one another rise up and do and be better.

How have we overcome our challenges? Nicole and I overcome each challenge by pausing and evaluating. We have regular lock ins where we take the time to assess what is going right, what is not working. We take our time to go back to why we started the Daily Drip. We also don’t allow ourselves to get stuck on something that isn’t working. We accept that something didn’t work and immediately move on and double down on what does work. We understand that things need to stay fluid and we won’t always get it right, straight out of the gate and regardless, we learn from each and every experience and then we move on. We are very good at making decisions and taking action.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would spend the majority of our time at the beach and on paddle boards. There are so many great spots from Haulover, Sunny Isles, Dania Pier, Fort Lauderdale Beach all the way up to Jupiter. I could spend all day everyday outdoors and particularly on or by the water.

I am very low key when it comes to going out because so much of my work life is social and involves going out. My favorite way to spend time with close friends and family is to host them at our home. And in a very relaxed and casual way. I encourage sweat pants and leisure wear. Even as a family, we love to make dinner together. We enjoy spending the day making all sorts of great dishes from scratch. My favorite way to spend time with friends and family is at home.

I love to spend time in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It is a great little spot that feels like a small town beach town in the middle of the So Flo chaos. I would for sure take a trip down to Wynwood, to walk around and have a bite. I love the vibe down there and the energy. And I would likely make a trip up to Jupiter for some boat time and shenanigans with my Crossing For CF fam.

The truth is, for me the company is what matters most!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Co-Founder, Nicole Mastrangelo is not just my business partner but my best friend. The Daily Drip is what it is because of the the relationship that we share, the values that we share. We saw a need, and shared a mutual passion and mission to support local female business leaders on their journey to maximum potential. In our own journey of entrepreneurship we recognized that there was a lack of resources for the modern business woman and created this media platform to share valuable insights, expertise and information that was highly impactful and was coming directly from our local thought leaders. But where she has been even more instrumental in my life is in how she has supported me and has made me realize my own potential and supported me and encouraged me to go outside my comfort zone and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. Everything we do for the Daily Drip Community is rooted in impact and a desire to elevate and support women entrepreneurs and business leaders.
