We had the good fortune of connecting with Roneeka Mortimer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roneeka, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success would be my passion I truly believe that having a grateful heart, treating everyone the way I want to be treated, and never giving up on what I love has caused me the most success.

I’m thankful for everything Ive received-good and bad. These moments have become a learning experience.

The most important factor behind the brand for me is its purpose. I’m here to bring out inner and outer beauty. This is why I chose this career path. I love bringing women out of their shell and making them feel beautiful inside and out this is why I provide these services. As women we are Mother’s & Wives and it’s important for us to look and feel good about ourselves . My job is to help provide that. I’m not only an Esthetician. I’m also a Therapist and a Friend. I love all of my clients, when they leave they’re feeling better than they did with smiles on their faces. My brand is to inspire and empower women.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others I would say my positive attitude is my biggest assets especially in my profession. In this industry, I’ve seen so many people get burnt out this is a tough business. When I come to work I dont think of it as work I think of it as my happy place, How I’m going to make someone happy today and have fun doing so. When I see a client smile that’s success for me that’s a goal I have accomplished its the little things like that for me. How I got to where I am today took a lot of hard work ,sacrifice and dedication believe me it wasn’t easy but I did not let it get the best of me, I have a background of fear. I allowed fear hold me back from doing a lot of things I use to think my work wasn’t good enough, I have to work on my craft. I would doubt myself. Make all kind of excuses not to follow my dream. It was nights I couldn’t sleep. I had a vision of having my own business, what it would look like, and that day finally came. I began to my plan into motion and that fear was no longer there.I still laugh about it. See I’m a joker I love to have funny. I turn a bad situation into a good situation I turn a negative unto a positive. Things that most people get upset about I smile about it. I don’t let a lot of things get to me I know I can’t please everyone I take care of my mental outside of work. When I’m here, I’m at 100 percent no one can take that from me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week trip in Miami let’s just say you can’t go wrong it’s Miami. The weather is great here we will definitely hangout at Margaritaville In Hollywood fl. It’s beautiful there. You have anything you need at one location, restaurants, drinks, spa’s the best resort ever. Than we would check out out Midtown to get some shopping on and stop at Astra and enjoy the beautiful skyline view in Miami from the rooftop.You cannot visit miami without going to south beach. South beach is the highlight of miami. For me personally I perfer Fort Lauderdale beach ,Hollywood beach and Hallandale beach. Less crowded and more laid back. Wynnewood is also another cool place we would check out. It’s known for many color murals. Wynwood is one of the most happening spots now. Walls of outdoor museums and its known for the best known street artists.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, I decicate my achievements to my family. They have always been my source of inspiration; my son the most. He’s my drive and I can not fail him. He drives me to want more. He believed in me even when i did not believe in myself. My husband who is also my great supporter. Who I am today is because of my family’s belief in me. There’s a quote I say to myself, “If you can see it in your imagination you can manifest it in your reality.”A dear friend of mine has been with me throughout my journey. She has encouraged me and pushed me when I wanted to give up, I just want to thank her for that.
