We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosella Papale and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosella, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Be patient, have fun and keep going!
You can find many people online encouraging others to become entrepreneurs and follow your passion by highlighting all the benefits you can get from it. They also forget to say that it is challenging every day and that you will often want to throw in the towel and send everything to hell.
So, the single most important decision I made as an entrepreneur is to keep going despite all the challenges, bad days, and frustrations. Nothing happens from one day to the other. That’s a fact.
Tenacity, patience, and consistency are skills we need to practice and develop in order to accomplish our goals on our way to success. Understanding that failure is part of our success is also essential because it means you are trying and learning; sometimes it works, and some others don’t, but you get to keep going.
We also need to remember to have fun with what we do -whether an entrepreneur or an employee-that will make things easier and to handle the stress and pressure better so we can take care of ourselves and avoid burnout—by working smart and efficiently.
As a famous fish once said “just keep swimming!”
What should our readers know about your business?
I am proud of how my business has evolved and become what it is today.
I believe brands are living beings, and so that is why it founded HIGGS HUB. A BRANDKETING boutique where we combine all the elements you need to bring your brand to life.
After a few years of working with signs, printing, and graphics, I transitioned to doing what I felt most of my clients at the time were having issues. So I decided to dedicate myself to brand strategy, brand design, marketing strategy, and business strategy.
At HIGGS HUB, we work around the business overall, not just one aspect. This way, we can understand all our client’s needs and identify missing opportunities to bring their brands to life so they can promote and grow their businesses successfully.
We understand no solution fits all, and we design customized solutions for our clients. We work closely with our clients, striving for excellent communication, creativity, teamwork, quality, and excellence while having fun. We have worked primarily with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and healthcare.
Part of my brand story is rooted in the fact that I am formally trained as a Medical Doctor specializing in Anesthesiology, which allows me to offer my healthcare clients a unique set of skills to help them accomplish their goals.
I have learned to accept change and sometimes look for it, to keep learning new things every day, to have fun, enjoy what I do, and that we can’t just focus on one thing when working with businesses or brands because they are the sum of many factors that interconnect and if they are not aligned things won’t work well.
It hasn’t been an easy ride so far, but I also learned to enjoy the adventure because there will always be great days and not so good ones, too; they are part of the journey because perfection doesn’t exist.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would consider a few places my favorite, and I would take my friends and family there.
GROU Coffee + Cowork in Coral Gables has a warm and inviting coffee shop where you can drink delicious coffee and eat delicious food. But also, they have a coworking space that makes them different. The way they support other local businesses is unique. I’m a fan of GROU!
Clutch Burger in Coral Gables is a great spot for burgers.
Sanguich de Miami in Calle 8 is the best Cuban sandwich ever! They offer a variety of traditional sandwiches, part of the Cuban gastronomy, and they make everything in-house. So, besides being delicious, they are artisanal and high quality.
Bay 13 Kitchen and Brewery in Coral Gables is a great spot to eat good food and enjoy artisanal beer.
Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar in Downtown Doral is a good place for coffee, food, and office for the day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Shoutout goes to each and every person that has been in my life so far.
From friends and family to coworkers, employees, and authors, everyone has given me something I can learn or benefit from.
I can make a list, but it will be long, and I risk forgetting someone. To all, I am grateful because whether it was a good or a bad experience, the lessons learned have helped me move forward and be where I am today.
There are a couple of organizations that, up to this day, have allowed me to grow as a businesswoman, leader, and personally. Shoutout to the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of South Miami, where I currently sit as Director on their respective Board of Directors.
Shoutout to my best cheerleaders, my parents, and my sister. Also, to those close friends who have always believed and trusted in me, sometimes even more than I do myself.
Shoutout to my clients for entrusting me to bring their brands to life in many ways.
I would give a Shoutout to some books I’ve read: Everything is Figureoutable, Shoe Dog, Rejection Proof, Hello Fears, The Infinite Game, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, and Creativity Inc.
