We had the good fortune of connecting with Rossy Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rossy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first arrived in the United States, I was driven by the desire to chase the American dream and create a better life for my family. With a background in industrial engineering and a passion for quality control, I saw an opportunity to merge my skills with my love for fashion. The idea of Anabella by Rossy Sanchez was born out of the inspiration from my daughter, Anabella. I wanted to empower women globally by providing them with high-quality shoes made from the finest Italian calfskin leather, ensuring comfort and style wherever they walked.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Anabella by Rossy Sanchez is not just a footwear brand; it’s a lifestyle. What sets us apart is the meticulous attention to detail and the use of the best Italian calfskin leather with a certificate of origin. The shoes are crafted by artisans in Alicante, Spain, where family-owned businesses emphasize the artisanal value and superior quality. I am proud of our commitment to empowering women globally, not just through stylish footwear but also by supporting the craftsmanship and artistry of our skilled artisans.

The journey to where we are today hasn’t been easy, but overcoming challenges has been a testament to our resilience. The key lessons learned include the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and staying true to our values. I want the world to know that Anabella by Rossy Sanchez is not just a brand; it’s a reflection of passion, quality, and empowerment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week-long trip, I would take my best friend on a journey that combines relaxation and cultural exploration. In Miami, we’d start with an upscale brunch at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, enjoying the elegant atmosphere and exquisite cuisine. A visit to the Pérez Art Museum Miami to appreciate contemporary art and a leisurely stroll through the historic Art Deco District in South Beach would be on the agenda.

To unwind, a drink at the 1 Hotel, surrounded by the beauty of nature-inspired design, would be a perfect choice. Exploring the upscale boutiques in the Design District and enjoying a sunset cruise on Biscayne Bay would complete the Miami experience.

One of the most exciting places to visit is the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, an Italian Renaissance-style villa with stunning gardens and art collections. In the Wynwood Arts District, the Wynwood Walls showcase vibrant street art. For a touch of luxury, a spa day at the Acqualina Resort and Residences in Sunny Isles Beach is a rejuvenating experience. Exploring the diverse culinary scene, from renowned steakhouses to waterfront seafood restaurants, provides a taste of Miami’s upscale offerings.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my husband, Melvin, who has been my unwavering supporter throughout this journey. His encouragement, love, and belief in my vision have played a pivotal role in the success of Anabella. Additionally, the artisans in Alicante, Spain, who have over 40 years of experience, are the backbone of the brand. Their dedication to craftsmanship and commitment to superior quality are invaluable.
