We had the good fortune of connecting with Rudy Tabares and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rudy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My greatest risk was actually my career. I could have been working in a different field like architecture which is in my educational background but my passion was really on giving back. Branches gave me the life opportunity I was looking for and it has been truly amazing and rewarding. Sometimes life choices determine who you are and where you belong and this was certainly the right choice for me; it has given me the chance to give back to our community in so many ways. My suggestion is to always stay humble and grounded so that when you contribute, the end result is not about you but about who is in need.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe that each individual is unique and brings their own part to the equation but what sets me apart is my passion. Everything I do, especially at work, is about passion which in turn triggers success and it is the motivation that keeps me going in my career. I have put my heart and soul into everything I do which is not always easy but often results in great outcomes. Also, training and educating yourself as I have is key so one can ultimately deliver the best service possible and hopefully also have some fun doing it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite vacation is definitely Costa Rica. The country offers everything, mountains, rivers, volcanoes, jungles, caves, beaches, and many more things one can explore. The food is also incredible, everything is fresh and delicious. I noticed that several restaurants offered many dishes and fruits I had never heard of which made trying them even more interesting and enjoyable. I would say that my first day dream itinerary would be waking up to an early breakfast and looking out at the volcanoes. I would go on several excursions throughout the day and end the night next to a bonfire with friends and family enjoying dinner. Then the next few days, repeat, repeat, repeat. 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To be honest, there are many people that have been an influence in my life but I will talk about two that have stood out more than the others. I am very thankful to Branches and its whole team. They are considered to be not just mentors but family as well. This team has re-affirmed my humble roots which is ultimately all about giving without asking for anything in return. Having the chance to make a positive impact on others no matter what their situation is, has been amazing. The last shoutout goes to my family that has kept me aligned and strong. They are the foundation of my character and I believe that it is always important to dedicate time to your own family as they grow older with you.
