We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Warnick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabrina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business was when I was 19/20 I want to say. Instead of starting college right after high school I joined a multi level marketing company which taught me to much about business and being an entrepreneur. I realized after a while while working with the company that my passion wasn’t with selling the services they were offering. My passions have always been to create, I’ve had a creative soul since a young age. At the time, I loved makeup, and when Instagram first started out a lot of girls were doing special fx makeup on social media and I knew I could do that too. From there I started posting my special fx makeup on social media, grew a decent following and from there I started having people request me to do their makeup. I then started to do bridal makeup more often and fell into the wedding industry. I have been doing bridal makeup for about 7 years now, and more recently about 3 years ago I started incorporating couples/wedding photography as the main focus of my business. From there the rest is history! I’ve been building my business now around weddings and absolutely love love love it. I feel it’s so important for people to do what it is they love in life. I hear from a lot of my peers that they used to have things they were passionate about when they younger but they never pursued them. People have so much potential in this lifetime so I absolutely always encourage everyone to do what it is they love and what they are passionate about. You could turn it into a business and even an empire.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My take on wedding/engagement photography is very cinematic, candid, and most of all FUN. I love traditional photos and all but I feel like I love capturing couples in the moment! Who they are, and how they act on a normal basis. The more candid the more authentic heartfelt connection you can feel through an image. For makeup artistry I love being able to bring out the already beautiful features of my clients that I do makeup for and nothing makes me happier when they are feeling confident and feeling their best. What I’m most proud and excited about has definitely been having the opportunity to travel with the work I do. I’m like a nomad and love seeing the world anyways, so to be able to book appointments in other states, and even countries has honestly been the biggest blessing. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that no matter where you come from, your gender, your race, you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Being a female business owner, and Afro-Latina some may say it’s more difficult to start, but I encourage you to go out and do what you love and what you think about on a daily basis. Listen to your intuition, I’m hoping my story can at least inspire one person after reading it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
10/10 recommend Wynwood, so many cool places and picture worthy spots. The Wharf Miami is definitely a fun one for me. Mayami Wynwood has amazing drinks and right next door 1-800-Lucky has amazing Asian food! Definitely recommend checking out the Viscaya Museum & Gardens too! So many place I could not even begin to list haha

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
