We had the good fortune of connecting with Sadiyah Rahman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sadiyah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ive always wanted something of my own. I love being behind the lens and creating videos for people and seeing their face light up when they see my work makes me happy. Im a peoples person, going from customer service to corp America kind of deprived me in a way when it comes to meeting people and working with new people, so this business allows my extrovert self to thrive.

What should our readers know about your business?
As odd as it may seem, I have a keen eye for details and a very steady hand. Im able to catch moments that my clients have said their videographer/photographer weren’t able to get which makes me extremely happy and makes me feel like I did a good job. I started event content creation because I was always the one getting content for my friends for their weddings and wanted share that with the rest of the world. With the world moving more into social media it just seemed like the perfect business to start.

I got this idea when my marketing company needed a content creator for the Canes show in Paris. (im a project manager for my 9-5). I didn’t jump at the opportunity because I was scared, but it did spark an idea, maybe this can be done for any type of event. Fast forward a year, Brides.come posted an article about someone in NYC starting a wedding content creation business and that was the push I needed to start my own business for event content creation.

its been only 4 months since I’ve started my business, and the response I’ve gotten has been incredible. I hope to turn SKRmoments into a full fledge event company that provides content creation, photo, video, day of coordination, and more one day. Inshallah (god willing)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom. She has always been there for me, through the good and bad. Although she doesn’t always understand my ideas she makes sure to ask question after question to understand my vision along with giving me words of guidance. She keeps me grounded and constantly prays for me. Without her support and encouragement, I wouldn’t be here. She tells me to take risks because it will pay off in the end.
