We had the good fortune of connecting with Sagittae Nidae and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sagittae, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My thought on risks are that they are always worth it, regardless of the outcome. When it comes to my drag, I take risks all the time and even tho they don’t always go my way, I always end up learning something new and gain tons of experience. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken for my drag career was moving to Miami to build my drag career there. I was still under the dependence of my family before I moved and after they found out I did drag, I was given the option to either stop doing drag or get cut off. Drag is my life and the reason I’m happy today so of course I decided to take the biggest risk I’ve ever taken and chose to go on my own into the world, starting with Miami. In my journey of starting independence, I suffered through toxic living situations, homelessness, and true poverty, all for drag. I now today have a stable living situation and have learned about the value of life throughout my experiences. I’ve grown at a rapid pace when it comes to maturity and handling responsibilities. I’ve been practically thrown to the wolves and came out of it stronger than ever. So don’t be afraid to take risks, even if the journey is hard. The destination will always be worth it.

My tagline is that I’m the “Silly Stunt Queen of Miami”. People call me that because I’m known for my show stopping performances that also include a conceptualized humorous twist. I do over 10 flips in a row, jump off of high platforms into the splits, and dance my bottom off till the very end. What separates me from other stunt queens and what also is the reason im where I’m at in my career is because I also like to bring in silly concepts to my numbers. For instance, I’ll come out of an inflatable minion suit as a sexy minion or I’ve even presented my self coming out in a kids electric car at the world famous, Palace Bar on South Beach. There are plenty of comedy queens and there are plenty of stunt queens, But theres only one Silly Stunt Queen and that is me, Sagittae Nidae.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting for a few days in Miami, I think i would take them to a lot fo the queer spaces that provide a queer art/drag form of entertainment. I like to go to the Double Stubble show at Gramps in Wynwood every Thursday and to Azucar after for the Sour Candy show. Then on a Friday, I’d go to the Villain Theatre for the Rupaul’s Drag Race viewing party every Friday night. Saturday would be fun to go to south beach and hit Palace Bar for a night show then hit Nathan’s for drinks and Twist for some clubbing. Then Sunday we’d go to the infamous drag brunch in Wynwood at RHouse.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is a special person in my heart I’d like to dedicate to my story. Her name is Ariesela. She is a transgender showgirl/drag artist in Miami, Florida. She is also my drag sister, best friend, and truly someone I’d call my family. Throughout my entire drag career, she was there right by my side. We’ve been through everything together. Throughout all of my struggles, she was right there by my side going through it with me. We’ve always taken care of each other and I honestly have to say that she’s the reason I was able to get through all the hard times I went through and I could never express enough gratitude to my dearest sister, Ariesela. I love you so much.
