Meet Sam Jacobson | Business Strategist for Wedding Pros

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Jacobson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sam, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“All you can do in life is put yourself in the best spot for luck to happen.”
Not sure who said it or if I made it up, but I like it for two reasons: First, it’s best to put the focus on the activities you can control. Too much time is wasted thinking and worrying about outcomes we have no impact on. The second reason I like it is because a lot of life is about luck, about being in the right place at the right time. Or meeting the right person. It’s fascinating to connect the dots going backwards in life to see how you get where you are.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My wife and I own a company that’s like a Swiss Army knife for wedding professionals. We have business owners grow with done-for-your services like website design and copywriting, or done-with-you coaching and training programs. Our special sauce is using buyer psychology to design sales and marketing strategies for our clients.
Like many others, I started in the wedding space through trial and error. I learned the hard way, and it took a long time. Sure it’s good to learn from your mistakes along the way, but it’s so much easier and faster and more fun to learn from others’ mistakes instead. And others’ successes.
That’s what we offer our clients. A simpler, shorter, more enjoyable path to success, whatever your version of it looks like.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the San Juan Islands in the very NW corner of the US. We’re closer to Canada than the mainland of our own country, surrounded by the sea and mountains. Outdoor adventures is what we offer. Sea kayaking, whale watching, hiking along coastal trails. It’s also a small-town feel with no stoplights and an active farmer’s market, which means opportunities to unplug from life, relax with others, and indulge in the moment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Laura Moriarty, my coach and guru, who opened my eyes to a whole new world of opportunity.
