We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
What is life without risk? I ask myself this often. I have always been aware since the beginning of starting my company that there is a ton of risk. However, I have always thought that the reward is worth it. I have always taken risks in many areas of my life, and for this I believe has helped me in my business. I have always been one to try things, but always know my limit. I have skydived, swam with sharks, but still the greatest risk I have always felt that I have taken was starting my business. And the rewards that I have been receiving through starting Beau Swim have reassured me that taking that risk by starting the business was definetly worth it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started developing Beau back in 2019, and launched the company in February of 2021. I started with about 25% of my products being made of sustainable fabrics, and I am so proud to say that now about 75% of our products are manufactured with recycled fabrics! Sustainability as well as the high quality of our fabrics is something that makes us stand out from others. I always knew that I wanted this company to be ethically made, and sustainable, so I am happy that Beau is continuing to grow in its sustainable efforts.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best spots in Los Angeles are hard to narrow down because this city is so fun yet different in the different areas. I love Malibu for beaches and hiking, especially Paradise Cove and the Paradise Cove Beach Cafe! Another incredible beach spot is El Matador with beach cliff views and stunning water. I love shopping in Beverly Hills especially around Rodeo and just walking up and down that street! Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey have the best spots for ocean view dining so it makes for the perfect date spots or brunches with your friends! Another favorite spot of mine is Manhattan Beach, the ocean is stunning and there are a lot of cute boutiques to shop around there as well!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate this to my supportive and loving parents who have always believed in me, even when I didn’t fully believe in myself! Support and encouragement is key when starting a business. You go through hard times, and it is so important to have people rally with you during those times. My family and friends have always been so supportive and it has helped me continue on in this journey!
