Meet Samantha Mills | Nail Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As a child my mother told me I loved Polishing my nails. Now I’m my adulthood I’m still the same way! One day at a family function the kids in the family were playing with the polishes and glitter. I decided to join them and painted one of my aunts nails and she asked me why do I pursue this as a career. Right then and there it clicked for me! I went home that night and looked up schools and registered! Learning about the beauty industry was so fun for me because this is something I was extremely interested in! Now I’m 8 years in the nail game and realized now I teaching individuals who was to learn about nails at the same beauty school I attended!

What should our readers know about your business?
My Nail business provides pretty much any service you could think of. I love doing nails but more I see my passion in instructing students on how to do nails. Although I work at a beauty school I also offer classes outside of the school. A more intimate environment helps the students practice and achieve what it is they are interested in learning before they leave my class!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t have a specific restaurant I Love To go to but I’ll probably take him or her out to eat too a restaurant of their choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! In between Eating we would definitely go shopping at Sawgrass Mills mall we can check out the outlets they have! Get a massage after all the walking would be doing! Check out a couple different malls since they will be here for the entire week! I love the beach so we would definitely be laid out on the sand. I’m not a club person but we can can definitely hit up a lounge and do a couple of more random activities we may find on Groupon

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My aunt Sheryl is the person who suggested I go into the nail industry because I polished and designed her nails at a family function while we were just sitting around talking. She saw my talent and opened my eyes to it as well! I always said when I make it in the nail industry I’ll always recognize her and let EVERYONE know that she’s the reason behind it all! She’s extremely motivating!! Love her so much!

My mother Diana is also one of my big supporters! Especially when I was in school! Pushed me and made sure I had everything I needed! She was always my practice hands and feet. She never turned me a way when I wanted to practice on her!

My father Steve allowed me to do nails at home when I started out at first and even now when I have my clients! I don’t do nails in the house though! I have my little setup outside on The patio area.

My Family overall has supporting at some point from when I started school and up until now! Love them for that!

My fiancé also supports me mentally! Encourages me with a few words when I’m not feeling it! He picks me up and I get back on the roll!

Now that I’m a new Mom I’m pushing really hard trying to do more in this nail industry so my daughter can be proud of her mom! She watches me and is always interested in what I’m doing! Sometimes she wants to help me lol. I love it!
