We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I think people have different seasons. Sometimes an idea sounds great, and a few months later it sounds dreadful. But if there’s something in you, or an idea that you’ve been pondering and overall just want to give it a shot, as long as you have a clear vision in mind it’s something worth sticking to.

You’re going to face hardships, and there are going to be times where you question your sanity. You don’t even have to truly, 100% believe in yourself… but you do need the passion to drive you through it.

If it’s something you feel no longer serves you, then I’d ask yourself: “Am I trying to sabotage myself because this is getting HARD? Or am I truly no longer enjoying nor see a future with this path?”

It’s never a matter of “giving up”. It’s more so understanding the sense of redirection and adjusting.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My whole life I was really into health & fitness. I had a turning point in my childhood where I was constantly bullied for my size, which is when I developed a poor relationship to my body and to food.

After years of battling this, I finally decided to go into the field and get my certifications to become a coach.

I became a personal trainer and realized I wanted to help people on a grander scale, but was completely broke and confused on how to get started.

My now husband and I had $12 to our name, a foreclosure law suit for not being able to pay the mortgage, and two vehicles repossessed by the bank. We sold as many belongings as we could and sought out higher support & help, which led us to our first business coach.

We made a down payment, totally unsure of how we’d make the monthly payments, but trusted that we’d somehow make the money back.

Our first week in, we hit a $10k week. And not even 5 months later we started hitting consistent $50k months.

This is the drive behind why we now teach online health & fitness coaches how to build a brand and business they can make a profit off of while they are able to help others at the same time.

We believe helping and serving people is the best way to give back, so helping coaches help even MORE people is our ultimate goal.

We never want anyone to be in a situation like we were in. We understand the ups and downs, and we understand what it’s like to start at zero.

Unlike others, we had no funding. We had no help. We had no resources. But we made it work. And we want to show others how to do what we did, so they can create more time and financial freedom in their lives and pursue their passion as their day to day work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m more low key, but definitely enjoy a night out here and there.

If I were to have a perfect day with the girls, we’d probably start off at little hen for the best brunch, prettiest drinks, and the best croissants while getting in touch with our girly sides.

Then off to Lincoln Ave to do some shopping and walk around in the sun.

Then at night definitely stopping by the Bodega Taqueria off 16th for some tacos, margs, and their *speakeasy* for some dancing and fun to end the night!

But some places I would definitely recommend checking out are south beach, of course. Soaking in the hot Miami sun on the beach is always a must. The Versace mansion is pretty cool to see and get a bite at. Overall, there’s never a dull day in Miami. You’ll never run out of ideas or places to go. Enjoying a rooftop bar experience is always my go-to.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout is dedicated to Benson Chidester. Thank you for believing in us and giving us a shot, even when we had nothing but a vision.
