We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Erden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always love gemstones. I had already created few jewelry pieces and sold them to my close friends. I got great positive feedback and decided it was best to star my own business.
At that time, I spent some time abroad in Europe and Asia and I was ready t continue designing and creating jewelry in a more efficient way.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As my business grew. I listened to. My clients, understood their needs and desires. I became more attentive to gemstones cut, size, and color, width and fit of bracelets, necklaces length, ring fit. All this propelled me to create jewelry pieces my clients love today. It is an intricate detailed process, and takes a lot of time, but I was determined to continue with much patience and perseverance. I think that if you love what you do, you will always succeed. My jewelry pieces are all handmade, unique and comfortable. I only create a few of each design. I pay attention to detail, It is important that jewelry be worn from day to night.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the outdoors so Design District and Wynwood are perfect areas to spend the whole day. From galleries to cafes and restaurants, it lifts my spirit to see much beauty in architecture and design. I love Michael’s Genuine, Contessa, Le Jardiniere, Dior Cafe. MC Kitchen, my favorite mediterranean restaurant Mandolin Aegean Bistro. A great place to mingle is Pastis Miami. I also love to visit galleries and museum; Perez Art Museum, Contemporary Art, The bass, and Vizkaya Museum and Gardens. In addition Brickell avenue is a wonderful area to stroll through and enjoy the architecture of many buildings. Some of the restaurant to stop at are Komodo, Petit Maison, Quinto Miami, Peru, for a great dinner.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, I started to participate in juried art festivals throughout Florida, Virginia Beach, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston etc. They are organized by great companies such as Howard Alan Events, Boca Raton Museum, Naples Art Association, Paragon, Amdur productions, Fort Myers Art Association, The Art Colony Association. Mainsail Art etc.
These festival give me the opportunity to learn more about buyers on a one to one experience. I learned which gemstones colors Floridians favor and I implemented this on my designs.
