We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Normil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
There are two brand taglines that I’ve always found extremely impactful. One of them is Nike’s tagline “just do it.” These three simple words are incredibly influential. “Just do it.” I often think about this line. The key to success in any business is simply getting started. While it’s important to conduct research and establish the proper infrastructure, there will be no business if you don’t get started. Just do it! Execution is key. I use this phrase in many areas of my life, both professional and personal. As a business owner, motivation may not always be there, which is why discipline is key. In moments when you feel overwhelmed, lack energy, or are discouraged, it’s important to stay the course. Just do it. Get up when you don’t feel up to it. Run that errand. Respond to that email. Open that laptop and work. Even in the hardest times, just do it!

What should our readers know about your business?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were to host someone for a week, we’d have an amazing time exploring the beautiful beaches of Peanut Island, South Beach, Palmetto Beach, and downtown Delray. We’d soak up the sun and enjoy the ocean. When it comes to food, we’d savor the diverse culinary experiences, from the vibrant restaurants in downtown Delray to the iconic eateries in Miami. We’d indulge in delicious Haitian and other Caribbean cuisines and maybe even dine at some of the charming restaurants at Mizner Park. For activities, we’d embark on adventures like kayaking, immerse ourselves in the rich culture at the Morikami Museum, and stroll through the lively Clematis Street. As for nightlife, we’d explore the vibrant entertainment scene, from checking out live performances at the improv to experiencing the energy of the clubs in South Beach or enjoying a Monday night at Boston’s in downtown Delray.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for my hometown, Arcahaie, situated on the west side of Haiti. Growing up in Arcahaie has been a pivotal and cherished experience that has significantly contributed to shaping the person I am today. The memories of spending summers by the beach, enjoying the ocean with friends, and relishing hotdogs and patties for breakfast on the way to school evoke a deep sense of gratitude. Riding my bike through the picturesque roads adorned with plantain, mango, and coconut trees, and the camaraderie of picking up fellow schoolmates along the way, are moments I hold dear. Additionally, the recollection of heading to the waterfall for laundry, witnessing watermelons budding on the vines, and the profound sense of community are memories that continue to inspire me.

I long for the energetic sounds of vendors enthusiastically advertising their products, the bustling presence of neighbors, and the vibrant array of food. My memories of growing up in Haiti are enduring. In the aftermath of the recent Kamala Harris vs. Trump presidential debate in the United States, I want to reaffirm my profound love for my hometown of Arcahaie and my country, Haiti. Shoutout to all my Haitian compatriots and individuals worldwide who exist fiercely and unapologetically. I also want to give thanks to everyone who boldly spoke up defending Haitians.
