Meet Sara Godbout | Artist, Graphic Designer, Homeschool Teacher, and Entrepreneur.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Godbout and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work / life balance is constantly changing to fit the rhythm of my home and family.
I work from home and also homeschool both of my daughters so at times it’s definitely challenging but I get better and better at it every day. At the start of this year I began taking advantage of my husbands four day work week and have taken two days a week to sit at Starbucks and do what I need to do. I also wake up very early when he leaves to work (I’m talking 2-3am) and use that as a way to get a head start on my day and finish anything I wasn’t able to the night before.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My artistic ability is nearly limitless. I’ve been a creative for as long as can remember and have been blessed with the opportunity to do art work of many mediums and styles.
The personal style I showcases the most on my instagram and my website is by far my favorite because its the most original and allows me to create in a way that no one else can. I started coming up with characters sometime in high school and eventually adapted them digitally to give them a new life. Those have been a lot of fun to work on and this year i plan on introducing 12 new characters to join me on my journey.
I’m currently the most excited about the book I’m writing that will be coming out at the end of summer called MoonRose Homeschool Activity Book. It ill have 20 new and original drawings by me that you can color, along with other fun activities for you the children in your life that you love.
I got to where I am today by never stopping. I don’t ever plan on stopping I love what i do and want to do it for the rest of my life. I believe with the right mindset and energy you can push yourself to do anything in life.
This time last year I decided I was done with free lance work and wanted to focus on my original artwork and thats what I did. Because of it countless opportunities have risen and I’ve said yes to just about all of them. Some weren’t always worth it but they were all a learning experience and that’s what matters most.
I want the world to know that the key to getting what you want out of life is to get started. Sit down and write out a list of goals, then the steps it will take for you to achieve those goals and get started. Don’t wait for Monday, or the first of the month, or the new year. The best time to start is now.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Luckily I live in Las Vegas, one of the most active cities in America. When friends and family come to visit I prefer to keep them off of the strip and show them some of the local life. Hanging out downtown in the art district is a must. To keep things organized in my head though I’m going to type out a literal itinerary:
Monday: Springs Preserve
(All day, the place is huge and has three museums, a train ride, a cafe, and a several botanical gardens.)
Tuesday: DISCOVERY Children’s Museum
(If we have children with us, they close for cleaning on Mondays so it’s extra clean and nearly empty.
Wednesday: Cornerstone Park for a nice morning story walk then Steamie Weenie (located in Henderson) for lunch
Thursday: Container Park for the afternoon as it has a lot of great small shops and places to eat. Pizza Zazza is incredible! Then walk around Fremont until it gets crazy.
Friday: Mini Grand Prix, because weather your a child or an adult this place is insanely fun. They have go kart racing, bumper cars, a roller coaster and more!
Saturday: Las Vegas Strip ( because you have to try it at least once) I’d start us down on Sunset at the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium. Then slowly work our way down making sure to see the Bellagio Garden, The Roller Coaster on the NY NY and see a show on the Strip to wrap up our evening.
Sunday:

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shout out Gem Jaxx. She has been one of my biggest inspirations and supporters over the last year and I am so grateful to have a friend like her. I have yet to meet anyone in this industry that works harder than her and continues to give back to the community despite her immense success. If you haven’t heard of her I’m sure you will, she’s beginning to pop up all over the country and I’m so excited for her.
