We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The best way to answer this question is that it is in my DNA, I come from a very artistic home to begin with …. Each of us has our own little talent and niche, that was recognized at a very early/young age. We didn’t have to go to school/college to figure that out, it really just flowed naturally as we were growing up.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started out my creative career in the Jewelry business, not only did I always love jewelry…. I also always felt it was a safe investment. It was like exchanging money for money…. It’s also a beautiful thing to look at, wear, and explore your mind as far as designing. Fashion has always been something that also I was born with in the sense of putting things together and I never felt scared to wear anything, or be judged upon. I was able to carry myself in a way that made it easy for people to admire and realize “wow if she can pull it off, perhaps I can also…” and that’s when Fashion blogging came into the mix. I never needed hours, time, or opinions of others to put an outfit or look together. My sense and taste of fashion was always a bit “fashion forward” so without even trying I was always a few steps ahead. Fashion and Designing isn’t the only thing I do, but the rest we will have to save for another time. I don’t think anything in life is quite easy, but if you have the ambition and character to succeed, then you will!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami is an interesting place when it comes to this specific question…. Since I’m a local I will avoid most touristic spots, as it tends to attract the type of humans I’m not so fond of. So I would probably take them to Soho House which is a social club, that you need to be a member of, it was actually created for creatives years ago. One of my favorite restaurants Cecconis is located there as well, and they tend to have some of the best events. I would also probably show them around the Design District, Wynwood, Brickell area, and since I grew up in Bal Harbour/Surfside, I would have to show them around that area as well. Most importantly the BEACH! I am a water sign, and I cannot live without the sun and water….. that’s like me having no air.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Not sure if this answer sounds selfish or not, I don’t quite have a specific person, like I’ve mentioned in prior question my creative side was something I believe I was born with and just came naturally as I was growing up it just led me to the right places, and opened up the correct doors.…. I can only really thank god for allowing me to born as a creative, and giving me the ambition, strength, mind, and ability to create and do what I truly love.
