We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Stokes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think about risk now, I smile. As a former TV anchor/journalist, I was trained in facts and only facts. The only risk I took was picking a bright lipstick.
Eight years into being a female founder, risk is something that I continue to smile about, but only because what other would see as a “risk” is me following my heart and soul toward my bigger future.
Every risk I’ve taken has paid off in big ways. From buying a magazine, growing it to 7 times its size and selling it, to converting $250k+ contracts with global companies in our marketing agency, to choosing to step into my purpose of being a business breakthrough coach for other high achievers, it’s all created what I call my Juicy Good Life. It’s why I named my coaching and mastermind company that.
I know life is too short to suffer. Often the only thing between you and the life you actually want is that “risk”, but make an empowered decision from a place of your soul’s desire and you will no longer see it as a risk.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of being a soul-led, strategic woman who has not only created multiple millions in her companies, I’ve done it with alignment.
I grew a magazine to 7 times its size and sold it for exactly the amount I wanted, despite doubt and fear.
I overcame burnout and realized I needed to call in help and support to truly scale.
I worked side-by-side with my husband to create an award-winning marketing agency that created jobs and helped hundreds of businesses grow and gives back to our communities.
I get to inspire thousands of people to become the highest version of themselves.
When we crossed the $1M+ year mark, I beat the odds to be one of the small percentage of female business owners who do that and now I help other women create a life they love and a life where they make the world better through their companies.
We are the parents we want to be with the freedom we want because we continue to follow our dreams.
I am still learning every day.
Love, growth, and gratitude serve me well.
My biggest lesson has been to stay in alignment with my values. To learn to say yes only when it’s a yes. To take incredible care of my spirit and to quadruple down on self care, healing, and compassion.
If you want to grow, do the inner work at new levels that push you to your greatness in the best ways. That way, as your business succeeds, so does your personal life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would be in nature as much as possible. There is nothing better than a beautiful spot on a patio watching the sunset and getting into the deepest conversations over an icy cocktail or iced tea. I would have us find a great spot, surrounded by nature and friendly helpers who keep us topped off!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my spiritual mentors, thank you for opening my mind and heart to new ways of thinking and being. To my husband, son, and daughter, thank you for being a fairy tale come true.
To our team for supporting every risk we’ve ever taken, thank you.
To my best friend who understands me at my core, thank you.
To every client who has invested in our services and to the women who are bolding stepping into their work with me and The Juicy Good Life, thank you.
