We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Talbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve often been a follower. I was happy to support others in pursuing their goals. It’s probably one of the reasons I’m married to a serial entrepreneur. He’s passionate and excited about every business he’s in. I would dive into help him with most back end pieces of his business. It wasn’t long into our marriage though, that he kept asking me what I wanted to do. “Why don’t you do your own thing?”
So I began to dabble in all kinds of crazy ideas. (I think this is part of the success… trying things and being curious along the way.
I tried weaving baby wraps, an in-home bakery, and travel blogging. There were many others, but I think the freedom to try things was what built my confidence. After taking everything I had learned from sales, marketing, writing, and more, I then started my career as a full time copywriter.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a copywriter for professionals. I work in a variety of industries that include law, healthcare, start-ups, and more. A few years ago I haphazardly developed my own unique process. It all started with an email that said:

“Let’s talk.”

That’s all the message said as I felt my stomach drop to the floor…

…and I wondered if this client was going to last.

See,

I had just written copy for a client’s launch…

When the email showed up in my inbox containing those 2 fateful words

My ad copy was getting clicks…but the sales page was a ghost town.

No sales.
I had done all the research, and we knew her ideal client like the back of our hand…

…but something just wasn’t hitting the mark.

Then I had an idea…

…I asked to sit down with some of her past clients to see why they’d worked with her.

And I discovered something I’d missed…

Rewrote the copy…

And within 48 hours of re-launching, the sales page began ringing in sales.

My intuition was right and we struck it big.

I then began to ask myself:

“How do you give your copy an opportunity to make the most cash?”

Give your client’s an opportunity to share their experience of working with you.

It all seemed to fit together.

I sat down to craft unique questions to pull out the best words to boost sales and conversions.

Then I realized if my clients want to boost their sales page conversions, there was more to the story.

Why would someone buy from them over another professional?

Creating words that become your salesman starts with a proven process.

That same process has generated $1,000’s for my clients has also given them more confidence in their own offers than ever before.
So now when hard questions and situations come up, I often ask myself: What does this make possible?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My days are often spent out on the boat or at the beach. So we probably would spend a decent amount of time exploring the sandbar. There’s nothing like feeling the wind in your face and the splash of saltwater on your back. If we don’t take the boat out, we’d probably explore the beaches and watch my kids surf. We could learn how to surf or we could collect seashells.
After coming in from the boat or the beach we often grab dinner from a local spot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband. He pushes me to keep trying. When I want to quit, he refuses to let me.
