We had the good fortune of connecting with Sari Azout and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sari, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me, success is about making reality more beautiful with your participation than it would be without it. For me, it’s about a feeling. The metrics, outward success, markers of “making it”, numbers, likes, popularity, visibility, praise or criticism or being ignored, awards, highlights, or trajectory that might come from what we make don’t matter much if we aren’t enjoying the process of making what we make, if the feeling isn’t there.

I’ve gotten a front row seat with some of the most successful, wealthy builders and investors and it’s become very very clear to me that there is just absolutely no level of success that will make you happy if you do not like who you are or enjoy what you’re doing when no one’s watching.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The short and simple answer is: Sublime is a personal knowledge management tool for creatives.

It’s a simple tool to collect all of the interesting things you come across – links, images, notes, quotes, videos, etc.. and want to later use in your life and work.

Anyone looking to do great work needs to cultivate a repository of interestingness.

The long and honest answer is that Sublime is the Internet I wish I had – calmer, more human, more Sublime.

It’s a software tool marbled with my values: creativity over productivity, less is more, attention is sacred, resonance over scale.

Most productivity tools fool you into thinking you have to master a system to make great things.

I genuinely did not want another tool to make me more “productive”.

I was tired of seeing faster and cheaper and more optimized as a selling point.

I wanted, in a McLuhan-esque, medium is the message sort of way, a tool that says:

Yes, we are all drowning in information.

The Internet is only going to get crazier.

But you don’t have to.

You can slow down.

Take a breath.

You can be the one creating.

Life can become meaningful

beautiful

profound

exciting

compelling

when you have a place to dream.

to capture what moves you.

to think things through.

to make something wonderful.

Sublime is a home for all your knowledge.

It’s also a commitment towards taking the first step towards making something – anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oof, so many gems:

Eat:
-Mr Omakase for the best sushi in Miami
-Silverlake bistro for a chill lunch or dinner
-Portovino for a hole in the wall very authentic Italian.
-Perl (imo my friend Chef IP is the best and most underrated chef in Miami)
-La Natural is an incredibly cozy pizza spot with delicious veggie appetizers. They also serve Ghia, my favorite non alcoholic spritz.
-Sadelle’s in Coconut Grove for brunch (they also have one in the Design District)

Visit
-An early workout at Barry’s Bootcamp in Aventura with Casey (my fave instructor)
-Shopping in Bal Harbour – I hate going to malls but nothing beats this place.
-If you can get to Fowey Rock by boat, it’s the best water in Miami!
-Oleta River for kayaking.

Bonus: If you’re here for a week, take the Brightline to West Palm Beach and have lunch at Saint Ambroeus!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate it to my three children: Steven, Aleph, and Elis who remind me, in my moments of doubt, that as long as I have them, I have everything I need.
