We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah and Ryan Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah and Ryan, how do you think about risk?
Ryan: When I think of the word risk, I always associate it with opportunities and faith. I never look at risks as necessarily a bad thing. I feel that taking risks takes courage, and that’s something that everyone should have.

Savannah: I agree. Risks are necessary in life. If you really want to progress and succeed in life, you have to take risks. Risks play a huge role in everything that we do, especially with our business. Believe me, it’s scary every time, but I don’t regret any of them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
S: I love photography, fashion and graphic design. In my art, I always try to find ways to merge all three. My art typically centers around portraits of people. We are all unique in our own way, so I love to capture that uniqueness, whether it’s with photography or graphic design.

R: When I’m doing graphic design, I always like to put a piece of my own personal interests into it. For the past year, I’ve been working on a poster series that incorporates my love for comic books and music. I reimagined some of my favorite albums from different musical artists and turned them into comic book covers.

S: I’m most excited to see how I evolve as an artist. I’ve learned that confidence in your work is key. Overcoming insecurities over the years have really helped me be the best artist that I can be. I’ve also learned that authenticity is vital for an artist. If you’re not being original, then your art will reflect that. You have to have your own identity.

R: Moving forward in the future of my art career, I’m really excited to see where my creativity takes me. When I first became a Graphic Designer, I was always second-guessing myself on ideas I had. I used to look at other artists and say that I wouldn’t be able to do the things that they did. However, I had to realize that everyone’s path is different. As long as I’m true to myself, I can accomplish anything.

S: We want the world to know that the Rayne brand is authentically us. We like to think of ourselves as people who don’t do things because it’s popular or on trend. If we do something, it’s because we truly have a passion for it. I think that’s what sets us apart from others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
S: Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, so I would definitely check out bayside marketplace. It has everything I love: food, shopping and live music! Another great place for shopping is, of course, Aventura. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t visit Aventura at least once. There’s so much to see! Don’t forget to stop by the food courts and grab some shake shack to refuel from all the shopping.

R: There are a lot of landmarks that South Florida has to offer. My favorites would be the Hard Rock Guitar hotel, wynwood and Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA. The best time to visit the Guitar hotel is at night, so you can see the spectacular light display. If you’re into art like I am, then Wynwood and MOCA are where you need to go.

S: One of the best things about Miami is the amount of culture that resides here. You can try food from all different regions. Some of my favorite spots are located in North Miami: Cafe Creme and Moshi Moshi. Cafe Creme has delicious Authentic French food. When I’m in the mood for Japanese, Moshi Moshi is my go to. Their sushi is so bomb.

R: Also, check out Crazy Fish on Pembroke Road for the best fresh seafood. The food and people are great! Bodega Taqueria y Tequila in Las Olas is another good food spot. My favorite is the Philly burrito.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to shout out our amazing parents for supporting everything that we do. Without them, we wouldn’t have the drive and the work ethic that we have today. From a very young age, our parents always told us to do something that we have a passion for and never settle for less.
