Meet Scott Harper | Artist and Painter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Scott, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue an artistic and creative career as a painter because of my deep passion for self-expression and the power of art to evoke emotions and provoke thought.I found solace in drawing and painting, using these mediums as a way to communicate and interpret the world around me. The ability to convey complex ideas and feelings through colors, shapes, and strokes fascinated me. Painting has been an avenue for me to explore my inner thoughts and reflect on various aspects of life, creating a profound connection between myself and my art.
Moreover, the freedom that comes with being a painter enables me to break the barriers of conventional thinking and challenge societal norms. I believe that art has the potential to spark conversations, unite communities, and bring about positive change.
It’s not just about creating pretty pictures; it’s about telling stories, raising awareness about important issues, and inspiring others to see the world through a different lens. The process of creation itself is therapeutic, and it allows me to grow as an individual while leaving a lasting mark on the world.
Despite the uncertainties and challenges that come with a creative career, I believe that the fulfillment I gain from expressing my thoughts on canvas and touching the lives of others through my art makes it all worthwhile. Painting is not just a career choice; it is an integral part of who I am, shaping my identity and giving my life profound meaning and purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is based on the inner person that no one sees. I combine the use of figurativism with abstraction. It was not just a career choice but a calling, a way to connect with others on a profound level and share a part of myself that words could not articulate. Painting became my voice, my sanctuary, and my path to personal growth and discovery. The act of creation filled me with a sense of purpose and contentment that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
While the journey as an artist may be unpredictable and at times challenging, the ability to leave a mark on the world through art, to inspire and move others, makes it all worthwhile. It’s a lifelong commitment to refining my craft, exploring new techniques, and delving deeper into the wellspring of creativity that resides within.
