We had the good fortune of connecting with Shadey Liadi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shadey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business because I have always been into fitness. And I also wanted to help other women become better versions of themselves. By showing them how to live a healthier lifestyle.
What should our readers know about your business?
Initially, I wanted to just train women to help them get into better shape. But as time went on I realized that I also needed to help them become mentally stronger, have better control over their emotions, and have a better spiritual life if they were going to succeed in the gym. I’ve learned you have to work on your mental as well. If one of these areas are off we can not be consistent in a healthy life style. So as part of my coaching programs I encourage my ladies to journal and meditate. These also helps them find their triggers within unhealthy habits. I have 2 other specialty programs for women who are going through menopause and suffering with PCOS. I had to do a lot of research and take courses to become knowledgeable in these areas. It was not easy but I did it. There were times that I had to decided to pay for a course or a bill in my household. I do not regret any struggles I have had being a entrepreneur. It has really molded me into a better woman and better business woman at that. I had to really build a better relationship with God to get me through many of my challenges. Because there were so many times I felt like giving up. I have learned that if God told you to do something you better do because there is a blessing for you. And to never let your faith waver. God is a faithful God. So we need to trust him fully with everything in this life. I want people to look at me and smile and say she pours nothing but love and hard work into her clients. I just want every woman that crosses my path to be better after our encounter.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hopefully it’s the summertime! We would hangout and have brunch in birmingham, mi. Then go to an art gallery in downtown Detroit. Followed by dinner at one of my favorite places Vertical Detroit. On another day we would hop on a trolley ride to go do some hot yoga and then have lunch. Yes I am a foodie lol. We would also make time to visit with my parents/family. My friends love my family so that would be a must!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to simply say my family and close friends. They have been my support system and anchors from the beginning.
