Meet Shaggy Eells | Entrepreneur & Co-Founder of Where To

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaggy Eells and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shaggy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
1,364 days of travel taught me one thing. The hardest part of travel isn’t spending a week in a hospital in Asia where they don’t even speak English, or any other setback like the lack of sleep from jet lag. It’s deciding where to go and then all the planning and bookings. Most people spend days researching and booking their trips just to end up going to the same beach resorts in Mexico as everyone else, doing the same touristy things, and never doing all the kinds of adventures that make for unforgettable stories.
That’s why we started Where To.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Where To is built on an adventure-first vibe, where surprise and spontaneity are the core of every trip. I’m most proud of the long-term vision of building a community with unforgettable stories.
Getting here hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned that persistence and clarity of vision matter more than quick wins. I stayed focused on building something meaningful, even through slow beginnings.
Credibility, trustworthiness, and appearance aren’t optional in business, they’re everything. Every interaction is an opportunity to earn trust and reinforce confidence.
Being spontaneous and having surprises in your life might feel childish. But! That’s exactly the point. Being childish is one of the purest forms of fun, and that’s the spirit we bring back into travel.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Miami, I wouldn’t give them an itinerary, because that ruins the fun. Sure, I could say we’d hit South Beach with every other tourist, overpay for cocktails in Wynwood, and take the same selfies by pastel Art Deco buildings… but where’s the adventure in that?!
The best trip is the one you don’t see coming. Instead of an itinerary, I’d hand my friend a packed bag and say, “Trust me.” That’s when the real stories begin.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a big shoutout to my co-founder Reagan, who’s been there from day one helping me build Where To and bring the vision to life. And to our first three travelers, Jett, Sarah, and Cole, who trusted us before we had any track record. Their belief gave us the confidence to keep going.
