We had the good fortune of connecting with Shakeitha Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shakeitha, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson that my business has taught me is “Sweat Equity.” Remedi Boutique has taught me that, because it takes a level of commitment when it comes to starting a business. Even when it’s hard, I still go full throttle with my business. Even when I don’t make money, I still attack the day like I’ve made $100K. When you decide to start a business, you have to grind like your life depends on it. I don’t have a Plan B, so my business is all I have. So on those days that I feel unmotivated and ready to give up, I just think about how far I’ve come. I grind daily for my business & I am always learning. Custom Apparel is always changing, but I stay in my lane, apply pressure & keep grinding

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from others is, the fact that you can’t outwork me lol. I say this all the time on my social media. I arrive at obstacles & I kill them every time. I am a person that eats, sleeps, & breathe my business. I pay for trainings from other individuals in the industries. I take continuing education courses from the community college to help me with different areas in my business. I always say I’m a Lioness on the Hunt and it’s hunting season, because I am always cultivating new ideas and getting better in my industry.

One big challenge is again, having the mindset to keep going even when I have months that I make ZERO DOLLARS. This is one challenge many don’t speak about, because it’s hard to keep pushing and seeing the views on your site with no purchase. Those are the times I read more, create new designs, and test new products. You have to build yourself up & know that this TOO SHALL PAST.

One thing I want the world to know about me & my business is that Remedi Boutique will be a worldwide household name in the custom apparel business. I want people to know that I have invested so much in myself and my business to create it into what it is today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love traveling lol I’m even a travel agent. So for me, I would do a brunch spot in Charlotte (Snooze is a great one). Then we would spend time probably at the lake & enjoying the scenery. I’m not much of a night Owl but I love this lounge called Art Room, I love the setup & finish the night at Bakadi Lounge, because Afrobeats, Soca, & Reggae is LIFEEEE.

However, anytime I travel I love going to the Zoo & eating at new places I can’t get at home

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Since becoming an entrepreneur, I have gravitated to reading more and listening to more motivational speakers. My favorite so far is Inky Johnson. I have to meet him in this lifetime.

My parents deserve credit; My mom for always instilling the “Never Quit” attitude and my dad for being my biggest business mentor and helping me through my crazy ideas lol. & lastly, my step-dad for always supporting me & asking, “Shakeitha how your business going?”
