Meet Shannon Lee | Model and Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannon, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose my creative career because it fully allows me to express my full self. Since I was a young child, I’ve always had a love and interest for modeling. I was very photogenic growing up, and I had a passion for creative concepts. As I got older, school became my other half, so I decided to actually go forth with my passion in my late teens. I started off with becoming a youtuber then slowly transitioned into free lance modeling. I decided it was my time to reclaim my early childhood passion and go forth and show the world who I am!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
As seen above, I am currently a model and content creator specifically a YouTuber. For the past couple of years, I’ve realized that hard work and determination is important but passion is what drives both. A lesson that I’ve learned is that I had to become passionate about what I planned to do. I’ve always known that I had a creative side of my life which I was really passionate about, but I had to take the time to build my passion. Building my passion is an ongoing process that takes determination and absolute hard work. Being consistent and persistent about my dream is what sets me apart from many. The modeling industry is extremely competitive and you have to be set apart to truly have a definite career basically you’re beating the odds. Growing up as a sickly child, I knew exactly what beating the odds meant. My childhood alone was a challenge that I had to overcome. As a child, I was diagnosed with severe asthma, severe allergies, and atopic dermatitis. I was frequently admitted to hospitals for pneumonia, bronchitis, and anaphylactic reactions just to name a few. My usually days consisted of speciality doctor visits, and tests. During a lot of this I missed a lot of school as well as social interaction, so as you can see my life was not easy! I never gave up on myself and I never let negative situations take control of my life! I learned overtime in order to get control of a situation and overcome your challenges you have to remain strong and vigilant. I want the world to see me as a visionary and inspirational figure. As I progress through life, being a model and content creator is amazing but it’s about the message that I push behind my career. Being unapologetically myself and fearless during my creative career is what I plan for the world to see. I am proud and extremely excited to see how far my career will reach locally and internationally. This is just the beginning.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I am a native Floridian and a foodie this question hits home. I grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida but I do have a love for Miami also. I would take a visitor to both cities, so they could get the full South Florida experience. One thing that I love about South Florida is the influence of different cultures throughout each city. My go to spot in WPB is definitely downtown WPB. Downtown WPB is full of nightlife as well as various restaurants. One of my favorite things to do is brunch, so I would take them to hullabaloo, sassafras, or batch which is pretty popular. During the summer months, peanut island would be a must. Miami is one of my favorites because there is definitely always something to do matter what time it is. The popular places that I would take someone would be Maü, Strawberry moon, Sexy fish, or Jaya at the setai. Common places in Miami that is great for shopping or hanging out: Wynwood, Brickell city center, Miami Beach, or Design district pop ups. For both WPB and Miami, we would definitely have to visit a local beach because it is Florida!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Personally, I would love to shoutout my Mother. She is the most amazing person that I have encountered thus far. Since I was a child, she was the first person to motivate me to achieve any goal in life that I wanted to pursue. She always believed that I could have multiple pathways to life, and still be successful. When I think of success, I think of courageous and hardworking people like my mother. Whenever I feel that my creative career is getting difficult, my mom never fails to inspire and motivate me. It’s safe to say that for all of my accomplishments I have to thank God and my Mom!
