We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaquille Barneau and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shaquille, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by life. Each day I learn something new about myself and others. Inspiration comes in all forms from all different walks of life. Creativity starts with Inspiration, manifesting begins with believing that your inspirations will guild you to your destiny!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets my work apart from others is that I don’t follow trends and I’m not afraid to “Go There” with my are. God works within me to bring out the beauty in life and create from a space of love, compassion, and true honesty. I’m creating a body of work that will last for generations, creating generational wealth for my bloodline. I’ve been uploading my work on social media for over 11 years and along the way I’ve had my ups and downs but I’ve maintained my strength and grind. It was not easy, I felt overlooked so many times but I learned that God was preparing me for the road ahead. I want the work to know that we all have the power to manifest beautiful things in this lifetime. My work is a manifestation of me and what I stand for…equality, freedom, diversity, love, and respect. Everything I do is with good intenttions.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to this Chinese restaurant called “Peking Wok”, I love Chinese food…especially the buffet lol. We also would travel to Charlotte, NC there are malls there, shopping outlets, with me it’s all about the vibes you create that makes the day exciting and worth living. I love traveling so definitely would go on a road trip. I love nature so sight seeing and snacks are on the list. Take wonderful pictures as well to capture the memories.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents because they always support my dreams and even though I chose a different path in life, they always granted me the wisdom that I can do anything I put my mind to. Also, Beyoncé is the epitome of phenomenal work ethic and she pushes me to go hard and create. Her “Renaissance” album is about freedom, diversity, spirituality, sexuality, and embracing all that we are as human and what is means to live a full life. I will work with her one day.
