Meet Shardae Tripp | CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shardae Tripp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shardae, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The decision to start my own business came from an unexpected and challenging situation. I, along with six other staff members, worked for a company called Brighter Heights of Florida for several years. Without warning, the company made the decision to close its doors, giving us only one month’s notice. This sudden closure displaced both staff and clients who depended on consistent mental health services.
Rather than allowing the disruption to stop us, we recognized there was still a significant need in the community—and we were determined to continue providing care. We came together, leaned on each other’s strengths, and made the decision to move forward. From that determination and teamwork, Dr. Tripp & Associates was born. What began as a response to adversity has grown into a thriving practice committed to accessible, quality mental health care.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a tight-knit group of clinicians proudly serving individuals and families across Florida. Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide accessible, high-quality mental health services to anyone in need. What truly sets us apart is our unwavering passion for the people we serve. We’re deeply committed to sharpening our skills, staying current in the field, and ensuring that every client receives care that is compassionate, consistent, and client-centered.
Internally, we work as a team—staffing cases together and supporting one another so our clients experience continuity of care. That level of collaboration allows us to meet a wide range of needs effectively, and we’re incredibly proud of the feedback we receive from our clients who trust us with their mental health journeys.
We are a Medicare and Medicaid provider, and we’re also in network with most major insurance companies. But what we are most proud of is that we don’t turn anyone away because of finances. If someone is uninsured or going through a hard time, we offer pro bono services to make sure they still get the help they need. That’s a core part of our values—care with dignity, no matter your background or situation.
Getting to where we are today was anything but easy. Like many growing businesses, we experienced our share of “growing pains.” But through open communication, collaboration, and the strength of our team’s expertise and commitment, we’ve weathered each storm and come out stronger every time.
What we want the world to know about our story is this: we’re here because we care. We’re clinicians, but we’re also human—rooted in compassion, driven by purpose, and united by a shared belief that everyone deserves access to quality mental healthcare.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure they experienced the perfect mix of relaxation, great food, and local flavor—Florida style!
We’d start the trip off right with brunch, hands down my favorite meal. Pancakes, burgers, and fresh-pressed juice? Yes, please! A spot like Berry Fresh Café would hit the spot—delicious food and a laid-back vibe that sets the tone for the day.
After brunch, it’s time to soak up some sun. You can’t visit Florida and not hit the beach. Two of my favorite spots are Bathtub Beach and Pepper Park—both are perfect for a little ocean therapy and taking in the beautiful scenery.
Later in the afternoon, we’d head to Downtown Fort Pierce to explore the local shops, support small businesses, and just take in the charm of the area. When we’re ready to eat again (because let’s be real, food is a big part of any good trip), we’d grab dinner down by the water—the restaurants in Downtown Fort Pierce have some amazing options with a view.
To cap off the night, we’d switch gears and go have some fun with a bit of arcade action at Dave & Buster’s in Port St. Lucie. It’s the perfect way to unwind, laugh, and maybe get a little competitive.
That’s just day one—but honestly, with great weather, good food, and fun company, the week would be filled with a lot more just like it!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate a heartfelt shoutout to several people and groups who played a vital role in my journey. First and foremost, I give all thanks and praise to God and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without His guidance, grace, and favor, none of this would be possible.
I also want to recognize our CFO, Juvan Francis-Hinds, who initially came to me with this bold idea and truly believed it could become reality. His courage to dream big helped lay the foundation for everything we’ve built.
I owe so much to my parents—the very first investors and supporters of this brand—who believed in me and helped create a path forward with their love and sacrifices. My husband Stephen and our children, Summer and Saxton, have been my rock, showing unwavering support through every late night and early morning.
And finally, to the original group who started this journey with me—Dr. Stacy Kidwell, Daniel Meant, Shardae Carter, Crystal Andrews, Nisha Bagaloo, and Paul Mohommed—thank you for believing in the vision and in the power of continuing our mission, even after being laid off with only 30 days’ notice. You didn’t give up, and together, we turned a setback into something beautiful.
