We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Parry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharon, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
You’re Worth It Foundation is trying to fill the need for affordable housing. But not the conventional way; we help give people hope. Changing the mindsets of individuals who have been told they can’t achieve freedom and home ownership, through Freedom University.

What should our readers know about your business?
our goal for partners are true freedom. Freedom from old mindsets, habits. How I got this far was and is the help of God. I have been where many of our people have found themselves. I’ve been homeless living in a car with four people, two dogs and a turtle. I’ve had family and friends turn their backs when my family needed help the most. That’s where strangers come from. God strategically placed strangers in my path that came through when I needed the most help and support. It’s sometimes not the people you expect to help you, that will. Sometimes it’s a company like You’re Worth It Foundation, that changes lives a person at a time, in the background. I want people to know that we’re more than just housing, we help with the whole person . It’s time to attain freedom. Freedom from what was, what you missed, what could have been, to what we can make it. The Freedom University course at You’re Worth It Foundation can help you realize that freedom.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some great places to check out is Miami Beach, CoCo Walk and I would say down south to Robert’s Farm. You have to try some of there famous milk shakes. The Noodle Station is a great place to get your Pho fix.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people and books involved. First off, I have to thank God for keeping me through his word. Dr. Myles Monroe is another teacher and leader, with my pastor Leroy McDowell. The Lotus House, The Homeless Trust, PG kids, Dave Ramsey, Angela Parry (sister), Raymond Williams(brother). Rich Dad Poor Dad, Think and Grow Rich, How to Prosper in Hard Times, He came to Set the Captives Free, Increasing Your Financial IQ, Failing Forward and How Successful People Think just to name a few books that have helped me tremendously.
