We had the good fortune of connecting with Shedly Apollon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shedly, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be leaving behind a joyful impact on people’s lives through Entrepreneurship.
My goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of others. I don’t want to be remembered as someone who took the easy road of working for themselves. Being an all-in-one, self-sufficient entrepreneur is a challenge compared to being a valuable asset to an established brand. I chose entrepreneurship because I like to think outside the box and break the mold. My hope is that when you think of me or my business, it brings a smile to your face. I strive to leave a lasting impression on people, whether it’s positive or negative, because I believe I’m unique in my own special way.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I bring a new level of artistry to the table, weaving my magic in every product placement and creative design. My aim is to create a joy-filled outcome that sings with inspiration.
I take pride in my ability to recognize where pressure is needed and apply it like a boss. While I may not be able to do everything, I do it my way and complete every task with style. We all have a role to play and without a makeup artistrt many programs, photoshootes, live TV and just the luxary would be dead!
My clients are more than just clients to me; they are dear friends who have shared many milestones with me. Birthdays, anniversaries, date nights, weddings – each memory holds a special place in my heart.
I know that I am here today because of the grace of God. He has been my constant reminder that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. I refuse to be boxed in by society’s expectations of success and instead, pave my own path through creativity.
Makeup artistry is more than just a job to me; it’s a way of building connections with people and bringing happiness to their lives. I may have faced challenges along the way, but I will never compromise my morals. Instead, I tackle negativity with a jack-of-all-trades attitude and a bold spirit.
I have big visions for the future and refuse to play small. I’ve learned that some things are better done with a bang, and I’m not afraid to shake things up and do things differently. When people see my artistry on display, I want them to be blown away – I want to be remembered as the vivacious girl who embodied a room and brought Maximum Beaut to life!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve lived in Florida for almost 27 years and Miami has always been the place to be. It has the perfect balance.
My favorite spots are spread evenly between Miami and Ft. lauderdale.
My new fav spot is Rivertail. I love seafood and their oysters are chefs kiss. I enjoy food and all adventurous lead to eating. My must visit restaurants are Sparrow, Black Rock, and American Social
My night life fav spots are Hard Rock and Rock bar. A laid back lounge is normally my go to for a more intimate yet still fun night.
For an adventurous weekend visiting the Miami zoo or strolling through a museum like Super Blue will keep your brain activated.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am blessed with a squad of loved ones who are my anchors, both in good times and in bad. My supermom who’s always been my rock, my BFFs and sisters who let me paint my crazy ideas, and my brothers who cheer for me on the sidelines. But, there’s one person who deserves a special shoutout. During those moments when everything seemed like a dead end, he stood by my side, holding my hand, and showing me the silver lining. I’m talking about my man, my man, my man, Wood! He made my business his business and lifted me up when I needed it the most. From the bottom of my heart, thank you boo!
