We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheneka Regis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheneka, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business took a lot of planning. My parents were hard working people. They expressed the flexibility of owning my own business. As an skincare specialist, I had to make sure I learn all that I can about the industry. It is always changing. I had to prepare my mind to act, talk, and think like a business owner before I became one.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name of my business is Brighter You Skincare & Spa. I Specialize in facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, body contouring (non invasive) and more. What set me apart is I dont look to the left or right of me to see what others are doing. The name of my company was chosen on purpose, “Brighter You”. When someone come to get a service from me. I dont want them to leave the same way they came in not just physically, but also mentally. I want all my clients to be Brighter from the inside out.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As you may have heard, Miami is the city of the party. We can visit Trick Daddy’s restaurant in Miami Gardens. Another great restaurant is Ikrave. The best part of Miami is our beaches. There is so much to do in south beach so many different water activities to get into. Our movie such as Ipic is a very cozy setting as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been reading and educating my self a lot in this season. I’m grateful for God he, has given me wisdom. I listen to a lot of Eric Thomas, TD Jakes, and I recently starting reading Curtis Jackson aka 50cent book. A big shout out to my church, World of Life Bible Ministry in Miami Gardens. There I am spiritually feed and it contributes to my success.
