We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherrell Riley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sherrell, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
It has definitely been challenging. I went from basically working a 9 to 5 to working 24/7. I do still make time for activities with my children and friends, but I no longer have a set schedule due to my to do list changing from day to day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name Winiva is a combination of my Grandma, Sister, Late Mother and my middle names. The WI represents my Grandma and Sister, the NI represents me and the VA represents my Mother. I’ve worked in personal injury for approximately 6 years, and I am very passionate when it comes to helping accident victims. I’ve worked as both a bodily injury adjuster and a personal injury paralegal, so I’ve had to make some tough decisions and also have seen how drastically an accident can impact a person’s life. While working as a personal injury paralegal, I became really good at overcoming liability denials. There are accident victims who may have been working directly with the insurance company and received a denial due to liability or working with an attorney and have been dropped due to a liability dispute. I want to be able to help those who genuinely were not 100% at fault. The purpose of Winiva Liability Resolutions is to review bodily injury claims that have been denied due to liability. If there is an opportunity for a reversal and/or comparative negligence, I then provide my analysis to a personal injury attorney who is ultimately able to take over and assist the client. To get started, accident victims whose claims have been denied due to liability just need to visit www.winivaliabilityresolutions.com and complete the questionnaire to the best of their ability. If any attorneys need assistance, I also offer consultations and a turn down review. I am really excited about helping more and more people reach a fair claim resolution.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would recommend they stay at the JW Marriot Marquis Miami. When you arrive, you’re immediately met by a beautiful waterfall with LCD lights. The rooms are really nice, and they have some great amenities. They have a beautiful pool, restaurant, bar, indoor basketball court, virtual golf, virtual bowling, pool table. Given the pandemic, it’s a great option for someone who doesn’t want to go out to too many places due to there being so much to do on site.

I’m also a huge soul food fan and love The Licking. Dj Khaled owns one in Miami also. There are so many different options to choose from on the menu. My favorite items are their lobster bites, wings, macaroni, collard greens and can’t forget the famous mystery drink.

You also can’t visit Miami without having a beach day and taking a stroll down south beach. Wet Willies is a great spot also.

I would also like to rent a yacht for the day, but I have not personally did it yet.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my Mom! Although, my Mom passed away when I was 19, she was very inspirational. My Mom was very smart, strong, passionate, creative and a huge risk taker. She owned a little girls clothing store when I was younger and was the first person who exposed me to entrepreneurship. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for her guidance.
