We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherri Shabazz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sherri, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I thought I’d have more balance once our children got older, but whew! It’s changed tremendously. I went from 0 responsibilities to needing a team to manage and organize my life. I never want the children to feel like I chose business over them, so I think about balance more often than I should!
Even when I’m present, I don’t always feel present. My mind is always racing with ideas, people always have questions, I can’t ever put my phone down without returning to a load of website inquiries, DMs, WhatsApp messages, text messages, etc. I’m juggling parenthood, planning events, being a wife, juggling several businesses and projects…and hiding from the world to maintain peace. I think I make work life balance look “good” but, HELP! lol
What should our readers know about your business?
“Provocative, alluring, and absolutely addictive, Sherri Shabazz penetrates the depths of your mind and urges you to forge your own path to sexual freedom. Saving humanity — one orgasm at a time, Sherri Shabazz is a:

As the voice of reason for many, I’ve curated a liberating and self-evaluating online hub for people of all walks of life— married or single.
I’m in the business of giving therapeutic insight into the lives of those courageous enough to grace my presence. With a mellow approach to all things sex and relationships, I’ve acquired thousands of faithful followers who eagerly awaits the release of my daily debaucherous thoughts and content.
Grandma’s Blessing is another brand I launched in December 2020. Always blessed with a “healing” spirit, I decided to turn my gift and passion into a business venture once given approval from the woman I inherited this gift from my grandmother, Rosetta Dorsett.
I’m most proud that: I was able to help many people during the pandemic, babies were born because of me, I’ve helped many women find their voice, I’ve saved marriages and relationships, and I’ve helped countless people figure this thing called life out.
In short, I help people tap into their power…through sex and health.
Was it easy? Hahahahahaha! Tougher than childbirth. There’s death and rebirth. When there’s a high, you know a low is lurking. But I overcome it by having tunnel vision and a strong spiritual connection. I know for every low, there’s a major high. I’ve learned that the tough patch is just a lesson to get to the next phase. I’ve always been a determined person, so giving up isn’t something I’m accustomed to.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, this is tough! I hate itineraries and I’m a “go with the flow” type person. I’d have to think long and hard about this, but I’d suggest doing everything local!
Like, eat a mango from someone’s tree, grab lunch at a Bahamian, Jamaican, Haitian or Cuban restaurant. Wear shorts and a tank top in January. Go to Haulover beach (yes, the nude side) before the sun rises, checkout all the malls, eat seafood rice and lobster at the strip club, and Wynwood…do everything there! Eat, shop, indulge in 420 activities, and enjoy!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all the older women that weren’t allowed to live out loud!
Also, to all the people that encouraged me to go on this crazy journey. The people that recognized my gifts when I didn’t.
Before his death, our last one on one, heart-to-heart conversation, my Dad grabbed my hand and told me “don’t ever stop doing this, people need this, they need you.” I’ll never forget that. Shoutout to Daddy.
Shoutout to my ancestors, my loved ones, the beautiful family I created, my supporting husband – he deserves his own space just for dreaming BIG with me! My mother for blessing me with this personality, my siblings. my friends and definitely my supporters aka my “cousins!”
Sorry, just practicing my Golden Globe speech ☺️
