We had the good fortune of connecting with Shontell Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shontell, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson I’ve learned in business is that the time is always now. You can spend so many years planning and preparing, and things still may not go as you expected. Sometimes you have to take that leap of faith and just start. You can figure things out along the way. If you happen to come to an obstacle along your journey, find a path around it, on top of it, through it; do whatever you have to do to keep going. Trust and believe, a determined person will always find a way to get the job done! Also, I’ve come to notice that the longer you wait to make your move, the more you begin to doubt and question yourself. Thus, I think it’s better to just avoid the what ifs and act now!

What should our readers know about your business?

B. Teasers is not your typical sex sore. I put a lot of love and hard work into building my brand/business. It’s my baby, I built it ground up with nothing but a spark of interest and enough will to get it done. While I still have a lot of room to grow, I can definitely say that I’ve come a long way from selling toys out of my living room.

From the beginning B. Teaser has always been about bringing couples closer together. What sets us apart is that we strive to fill in the gap, to find out what’s missing in relationships. Thus, we want to bring intimacy back to the bedroom and help couples find the love and connection that they lack in their relationships. Additionally, B. Teasers is also for the singles. We are pro masturbation and body exploration. Learning to please yourself is just the first step in receiving pleasure from someone else.

Besides that, I want people to know that B. Teasers represent everyone! Non-judgmental and all-inclusive is how I’d like to describe it. A strong advocate of accepting and loving one another. B. Teasers is not just a business; B. Teasers is a lifestyle! B. Teasers represent the freedom to live on your own terms and not care what others may say or think. Through years of participating in and hosting pop-up shop, we’ve found that B. Teasers is a like bind, we bring people closer together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I’m not much of a party girl anymore. I much rather chill and catch a vibe. It’s funny you ask this cause me and my friends have a saying, “On Sundays we brunch”! So, I can’t tell you about any clubs, but I can definitely tell you about some good brunch spots and restaurants. If you’re looking for a good time, try RHouse in Wynwood, Palace on Miami Beach, and Victory in Miami for brunch. Juniper On The Water, located in Hallandale FL is also one of my favorite brunch spots but it’s more relaxed. Smith & Westber is another must go to spot! Their brunch and weekly happy hour is by far the best! The food is delicious, and so are their drinks. They rank high in customer service as well. For a good mid-week chill vibe, I love El Tiesto Cafe in Pembroke Pines. They have reasonable priced hookahs, they’re open late night, and for the sushi lovers like me, they have 2 for one sushi on Wednesdays. Sushi Sake is another great restaurant for sushi. They have many locations, but the Miami Lakes and Hialeah locations are my favorites. For good Haitian cuisine, go to Berney’s in Hallandale, and for a quick late-night snack try Midnight cookie in Hollywood Florida.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

First, I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my late grandmother, Joann Hodges. She passed in 2013 from metastatic breast cancer. She was a fighter, and she fought all the way up until her last breath. She was a prime example of a strong black woman. My grandmother always showed me unconditional love and she believed in me. She called me her diva and it is because of her that I am the woman that I am today.

Next, I would like to give a shout out to my late friend Rodney Lee. His passing made me realize that life is short and you have to make the most of today! I thank him for always being a true friend to me. Rodney believed in me and my brand when no one else did. He made my very first B. Teasers flyer and came up with our slogan “bringing intimacy back to the bedroom”. Rodney was the true definition of a friend. He will forever be missed.

Furthermore, I would like to send a special shout to my friends who supported me and my business from day one! From assisting with my pop-up shops to offering words of encouragement! Tiera, Sierra, Kiara, Keyauna, Shawncy, Man-Man, Matt, Justin & Leroy. I love y’all!

Shout out to all the vendors and small businesses who believe in my brand and all those who have or who plan to participate in my pop-up shops! Our 2nd annual Lovers and Friends pop up shop is set to take place on 2/11/23 in Hollywood FL and I look forward to networking with you all! Thank you to anyone who has ever invited me to participate in their pop- up shop. You all helped me to grow my brand to what it is today. Also, thank you to those who come out and support!

Lastly, I would like to recognize my three children. They are the reason I push so hard each and every day. I thank them for loving me when I didn’t love myself. I know I work long hours and sometimes I yell out of frustration and exhaustion, but mommies love y’all and everything I do is for ya’ll! I got y’all forever! It’s us against the world.
