We had the good fortune of connecting with Silvana Souza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Silvana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was about combining my passion for design with the desire for autonomy. After working in the interior design field for 13 years, I realized that I could offer a unique perspective on creating personalized, functional spaces that also reflect the individuality of each client. I wanted the freedom to craft my vision and build relationships with clients who trusted me to create spaces that felt like home. It was important for me to create something meaningful that had my signature on it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always had a passion for design, and after earning my bachelor’s degree in interior design, I’ve spent over 13 years delivering high-end, turnkey projects that create truly personalized and functional spaces. Over the years, I also acquired my real estate license, which has allowed me to combine my love for design with a deeper understanding of the real estate market. This unique skill set enables me to help clients make strategic decisions about designing spaces, whether for resale or their forever homes. It’s a powerful tool I’ve been able to offer my clients, ensuring their investments are aligned with their long-term goals.

What sets me apart is my approach to design. I truly believe that every space should tell a story and reflect the personality and needs of the people who live there. I aim to create spaces that not only look beautiful but are also functional and purposeful. I love collaborating with clients to bring their vision to life, but I also take pride in offering guidance that makes their choices easier, whether they’re renovating for resale or creating a dream home.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t always easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges. There were moments of doubt, balancing family life with business growth, and navigating an ever-evolving industry. But through it all, I learned the importance of persistence, patience, and adaptability. Every setback became a valuable lesson. I’ve learned to embrace those moments as opportunities for growth, and I’ve built a network of incredible mentors and supporters who’ve helped guide me along the way.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success is not linear. There are ups and downs, but with each experience, I’ve gained confidence and a clearer vision of my goals. I’ve also realized the importance of staying true to my values, focusing on quality, and never compromising on my passion for design.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that it’s rooted in authenticity, creativity, and a genuine desire to help people create spaces that improve their lives. I don’t just design rooms—I design environments that evoke emotion, offer comfort, and reflect the unique identities of those who inhabit them. And ultimately, I want people to know that I’m here to help them through the process, every step of the way, with care, expertise, and dedication.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I absolutely want to shout out my entire family for their unwavering support and patience. My husband is truly amazing—I would not have had the confidence to take the leap into entrepreneurship without his encouragement and support. My kids also deserve recognition for being understanding and patient when I need to focus on work. They make it possible for me to dedicate myself fully to my business.
I also want to give a special shoutout to my mom for always providing free childcare nearby. Her support has been invaluable and allows me to focus on growing my business without worry.
A big shoutout to Natalia Britto, whose design business coaching and mentorship has been key in helping me grow my business. I’m truly grateful for her guidance.
