We had the good fortune of connecting with Sinem Kaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sinem, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I am a single parent of a toddler that recently turned 5 years old, YAY 🙂 The most important thing I have done as a parent has been to stay present the hours that I get to spend time with my daughter. As an executive working on a fast-paced environment I am always needed to show up for any situation and most importantly I need to ensure to show up for my daughter no matter what the circumstances can be. I do think children doesn’t realize nor value materialistic aspect of life (at least for a while) and what they really care & value is who was with them through all the life moments.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I grew up in small town in Turkey with access to lots of nature and incredible community where kept me in touch with who I became today and diversity I carry. Definitely was not an easy to transition create a new life in US solo, I moved in 2007 to advance my career back in Istanbul, little did I know life had different plans and here I am after 16 yrs. Miami is now where I call home. Hospitality industry had been very rewarding for me however I like to highlight that in order to reach any goal in life you have to show up for the cause and so I did with lots of pride and care. There were many challenges along the way, but I looked them as opportunities to advance my knowledge and i invested on things that I was most fearful of – Also shoutout to the amazing professionals who now I can call family for their help, trust and investment in my development along the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would do a healthy mix of the city and the beach – I would spend the day at Standard Hotel for some R&R and then head to Brickell for dinner at Filia and night out at Tearoom,

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely to my mother first she had shown me the resilience in life on so many different layers definitely someone that has shaped me as a leader, as a mother and independent person. I love the charity ”compassion international” does for the kids all over the world, definitely a huge shoutout to them for their amazing work they do with education, and growth of the children all around the world.
