We had the good fortune of connecting with Sondra Wilkerson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sondra, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“opportunity and success favor the prepared”.

If planning for success in business, it is of upmost importance that you be organized and prepared.
Numerous times I have witnessed a person with great skill and ambition fail to succeed at the level they desire, due to their own lack of organization and preparedness.
I have also seen people with little skill, accomplish tasks they were not professionally trained to handle because they took time to get prepared and organized.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I began my career as a nail tech after praying to GOD for guidance. I had already dropped out of community college and had a disheartening experience at cosmetology school. I once thought I wanted to be a hairstylist but found it too stressful. You might imagine how confused I was when the answer to my prayer was head back to cosmetology school. When I arrived they gave me a tour and part of the tour was the manicure course for nail technicians. I was instantly intrigued and immediately signed up for the course and the Lord has been guiding my career ever since. I didn’t think I would be much suited for the job because I didn’t consider myself to be a people person but I’ve really grown leaps and bounds in this area and Ive found it easy to open up to my clients to have warm conversations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in Louisville Kentucky my hometown are the Muhammad Ali museum is very interactive and very informative. I found that Allie was much more than a world champion boxer he was most of all a humanitarian. For the best haircuts and nail services in town you should definitely stop by Big City Styles located inside the Henry Clay building in downtown Louisville Kentucky since 1998. I also feel Louisville Kentucky has some of the greatest green spaces in all of America and Mustin when you’re in town check out the local parks many of which aligned parkways

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Faith in God is what I credit my success to as a mom, wife and nail technician.
