We had the good fortune of connecting with Soto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Soto, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
the pursuit of job independence exploring my talents was always a constant within my ideas and thoughts.

Thanks to this desire I began to explore different forms of artistic expression: art – tattoo – clothing

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I see my art as a mix of different eras and styles seeking to identify my style in every learning process and artistic growth understanding that art is not only what we like ” we cannot use our taste as a unit of measure” right? Being open to knowing and change has helped me to get to where I am today and understand that art can lead to different techniques and expressions, make me feel proud to explore and understand how everything evolves with each generation.
changes are never easy but I like the challenges that push me to know and strengthen my talent
Lessons I have learned along the way? : that our taste is educated and changes over time, languages change, things change and always ask me the big question: Is any work that someone puts in a gallery a work of art?
Because we have assumed it to be so.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
if my best friend came to visit me for a week I’d take him: For art:
1. Vizcaya Museum of course I love the Renaissance art reflected in many of my pieces
2. I would take him to the Bass Museum to show him, in addition to his art, the shop of that museum where I have for sale my merchandise.
3. and because we only have one week and I don’t want to be an art spam! would end in my studio where we could enjoy and show him my surrealist, baroque and romantic passion in some of my pieces.
Eat:
1. @Plants&Bowl at Time Out Market:
Delicious healthy place to calm the heat of the city. Healthy and fresh 100% recommended.
In this place I did a pop up artistic/ tattoo/ merch for a year and I could enjoy the gastronomic diversity of the place.

2. @TheCocinitaMiami Brickell

Of course my best friend is Vegan so my best option and the best of the city is The Cocinita Miami.

3. Venezuelan Food: @Doggis

Nothing like the food of your country and for Venezuela Doggis is the best option in the city.

Hang out / drinks:
easy, every month there are two parties that concentrate the most beautiful cool exciting people and the best music and DJs every month: @theplaylist and @midnigthService uffff I can’t wait every month to go.
And to finish the week because I know it’s an addiction:
Tattoos with me @Soto.ink in my Studio.
The trip it’s not done if you don’t live the experience to get a tattoo in Miami. Best memories.
Definitely you need more that a week to know this beautiful city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
first to myself for believing in my passion and talent. For the effort and dedication in each process. when we embrace ourselves and embrace our talents and we seek to work on them consistently we can achieve our goals on the other hand the family artistic influence that let me understand and explore my own ideas and ways of expression! with them I could understand and get involved with art from a very young age.
