We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Leuliette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit! Although I spent time with larger corporations; Ralph Lauren, Saks Fifth Avenue & Schumacher, I’m happiest at the helm of my own ship, so to speak…. Its the creative in me….I like thinking outside of the box, the process behind creating something wonderful and I don’t like being told where to put my pencil sharpener on my desk and what time to eat lunch!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After graduating from Southern Methodist University, I stared my career at Ralph Lauren in Merchandising and presentation, working for Mr. Lauren was the most incredible experience and one that I will cherish forever. He taught me everything I know about the consistency of your brand across all channels, the importance of presentation and directives and a lifestyle brand. When I left Ralph to pursue my own business, I opened a home and gift boutique in my hometown in Michigan for 5 1/2 years…from there I started my own interior design business which I still have to this day. I also had roles at Saks Fifth Avenue. as Marketing and PR director in Palm Beach and at Schumaher as sales manager for the DC territory. Throughout my career I have taken steps forward and backwards, sidewards and diagonally to follow my passions….I am a strong Leo and very much go into everything I do wholeheartedly. When I bought The Scout Guide Palm Beach, the first of my four markets I I knew very quickly that I had found ‘my thing’. I am passionate about our mission to celebrate and support small businesses, I Love sharing that with our community and being an advocate and ambassador for their businesses. because I’m a small businesses owner too. I know the early mornings, long days and late nights and doing whatever it takes to. make sure that your dream is a success! I would encourage others to always take the high road, do what is right and be kind to everyone you are working with, no matter what their role, title or responsibility- that goes a long way and trust me, people will remember that!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although I have four markets for The Scout Guide, my primary residence is Palm Beach. I”m originally from Michigan, so I”m a midwesterner at heart, but will always be happiest in the sunshine and palm trees!

There are so many wonderful places on this little slice of paradise that I’m delighted to call home! But here are a few of my must see’s!

The Colony Hotel, The pinkest hotel in Palm Beach is an iconic landmark at the foot of Worth Avenue. Owner, Sarah Wetenhall is a dear friend of mine and it’s been so wonderful to watch her restore and reimagine the hotel for the next generation of Palm Beachers!

I love walking down Worth Avenue, from big names to the most perfectly palm beach boutiques, you’ll find everything you’ll need here! lots of wonderful restaurants as well!

The Royal Poinciana Plaza or The Royal as we call it is a shopping destination unto itself! This beautiful outdoor shopping center has some the best names on the island including shopping, galleries and restaurants!

When I’m. not working, you’ll usually find me on a bike at Soulcycle (which pops up at the royal during season), on a Yoga mat at the Yoga society or rollerblading the lake trail with my cavapoo Monty!

I have a Palm beach city guide if you’d like me to send along!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have had the great fortune in my career to work with some really incredible ladies and what I will call the opportunity to work with some ‘mean girls’ ….and I learned a lot from both. The first group of ladies on my team at Ralph Lauren was a very special one, 20 years later we still keep in touch and cheer each other on as we watch and encourage each other in our careers, it’s one of my greatest joys to see these ladies grow! The biggest shoutout, for me, goes out to my father. Every step of the way, his support, mentorship, love and encouragement has meant the world to me and he and my mom ares my biggest cheerleaders! When I was younger, I never realized how much watching his success in the business world would have an impact of me, but it truly has shaped by work ethic, drive, determination and business acumen and I am grateful everyday for it. He has helped me work though a number of business deals and Right now, we are working on our biggest one yet and it’s truly brought us closer than anything else and a whole new camaraderie to our relationship.
