We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Pierre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe that the most important factor behind the success of my law firm is that I have been in my clients’ shoes. What sets me apart from other lawyers is that I have been a businesswoman for years before becoming a business lawyer. Therefore, I speak not only from education but also from experience. I started SVP Law Firm with the goal of helping entrepreneurs and creatives not only protect their brands but also avoid common legal mistakes.
At SVP Law Firm, we are dedicated to providing legal solutions for your creative problems. We offer a wide range of legal services, including trademark services, business consulting, contract drafting, business incorporation services, and more. We help our clients establish high standards for their businesses and bring their visions to life. Our focus is to help creatives protect their legacy and brand.
Through my own experiences as an entrepreneur, I understand the hurdles of investing in a dream before making any profits. I have made many of the common entrepreneurial mistakes prior to becoming a lawyer and learning business law. Therefore, I feel more equipped to provide creatives with the do’s and don’ts of business because I’ve been in their shoes.
Most entrepreneurs are focused on ensuring their brand looks professional and pretty. Their main focus is to launch as fast as possible to start making money. While I understand the importance of making money, it is equally important to invest your time, money, and efforts into a brand that you have protected. The backend paperwork may be boring and confusing, but imagine building an entire brand and having it pulled from under you? Or investing so much in a brand that you haven’t protected, only to have someone steal it from you? On a day-to-day basis, I explain the importance of intellectual property and contracts to my clients.
It is fulfilling to see brands that work with SVP Law Firm, whether we’ve incorporated their business or provided trademarking services, take off with brand partnerships, land deals, and ultimately elevate their business.
What should our readers know about your business?
In all transparency, this journey was not the smoothest and it wasn’t the easiest. It was one of the hardest ventures I’ve taken on in my life. Being a first generation law student, no one gave me the blueprint. I had no shortcuts. So I had to put in the work overtime.
Graduating law school was one of the biggest, happiest, impactful moments in my life, you know, my whole family was there! But not too long after, I took the Bar Exam and failed on my first try. I actually had to take the bar multiple times. But nothing worth having in life is easy and I learned real early that I had to earn this title. Not that I thought it’d be easy, but going through every motion truly humbled me. It strengthened my work ethic.
And at the same time I can’t say it was the roughest. I know I’m not the only person who had disadvantages. I know I’m not the only person with struggles. And that’s one of the main things that kept me going. That I’m not alone. It only made me want to support people more.
I can honestly say, despite the struggles, this was one of the best decisions I could’ve made for me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout My mother for doing all that she could to ensure that I was successful. This law degree may only have my name on it but she deserves all the recognition. My mother knew nothing about law school but she knew how to show me genuine support and love. I can always count on her to remind me that I was blessed and destined to be a successful lawyer.
I must say I was also blessed to have a tribe of family and friends that supported me. I was supported by friends that I have known since I was in high school, college and even some that I met in law school that really went through this entire journey with me.
Lastly, I want to shout out my mentor Tia Gibbs without her there would be no esquire at the end of my name. Thank you for never looking at me like a failure. Thank you for always giving the same 100% support every time I took the bar until I crossed the finish line. Thank you for everything.
